Under general supervision, coordinate and conduct general electrical repair work and troubleshooting, perform preventive maintenance, installation services and construction work in accordance with safety standards and fire state electrical codes. Essential Job Duties: • Performs assignments in the layout, installation, repair, alteration, and maintenance of a wide variety of complex electrical equipment such as automatic controls, emergency generators, switchboards, transfer switches, lighting systems, fire alarms and smoke detection systems. • Analyzes and troubleshoots electrical problems with a wide variety of electrical equipment, replacing defective parts, reassembles effected equipment and tests for proper operation and safety. • Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled or required on all types of electrical equipment as recommended by the manufacturer and on-site safety programs. • Maintains necessary work records including equipment records, logs, and time sheets. • Read and can interpret electrical schematics. • Ensures that all work meets prescribed standards of quality and ensures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes • Detects and reports to the Supervisor any unusual conditions, defective materials, faulty equipment, and equipment operating or installed incorrectly. • Assists other maintenance personnel on projects as directed • May perform other duties as assigned Skills, Education and Experience: • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required • Minimum 2 years related work experience to include industrial environment • State of Michigan Journeyman’s Electrical License or a State of Michigan Journeyman Industrial Electrician’s License required • Working knowledge of electrical systems • Ability to read and comprehend complicated blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas, and handbooks • Must be familiar with the National Electric Codes, electrical theory, and be comfortable working with high voltage three phase circuits, generators, transformers, switchgear • Ability to use various testing devices related to the electrical and mechanical trades • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required • Must have a current valid driver’s license • Working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications used for compiling data and work records • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment • Ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner Salary: $32/hr. - $34/hr. The hourly rate is between $32.00 and $34.00per hour, and the anticipated annual base compensation range for this position will be $66,560- $70,720 inclusive of required overtime Working Conditions: Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements. We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Distribution Maintenance (EDM) Electrician to join our company at our Midland, MI facility. The EDM is responsible for the maintenance and reliability of the power distribution system equipment and electrical equipment in an industrial plant environment. This role is for a highly motivated person with leadership skills, flexibility in working with others and proficiency in electronic tools, who embraces an ownership culture. This position will be aligned to the Electrical Distribution Maintenance workgroup within Infrastructure Services in Corteva Michigan. VISA Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. This role will be on-site at the Corteva location. What You'll Do: • Perform electrical work on the site power distribution electrical equipment with voltages up to 138kV. This includes maintaining, repairing, and testing of medium and high voltage power distribution equipment including transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays and battery systems, as well as clearing, switching, and grounding activities on electrical equipment. • Assemble and wire relay panels for planned maintenance upgrades. • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and provide effective repairs to all the components of electrical equipment and distribution systems. • Develop or update procedures. • Mentor / train others. • Prepare and maintain appropriate records on equipment and facilities. • Provide Subject Matter Expert support to projects and Root Cause Investigations. • Successfully complete on the job training and hands on proficiency skill test with all applicable equipment. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: • You have your high school diploma/GED. What Skills You Need : • You have a valid US drivers license. • You identify, prioritize, and safely accomplish tasks and problem solve to overcome obstacles. • You are able to read/understand wiring diagrams and control circuits for specific electrical equipment including substation drawings. • You have experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc) and pick up quickly on new software systems. • You are organized, stay committed to timelines, exhibit good judgment and are flexible in adapting to priority changes/demands. • You are able to work independently as well as in a team setting and are able to display good influential leadership skills when needed. • You are always conscientious about safety, quality, and process compliance. • You have a high level of professionalism and are always punctual and responsible. • You possess strong verbal and written English communication skills. • You are willing and able to work a primarily daytime schedule of Monday through Thursday (10 hour shifts for a total of 40 hours of planned work time) with some overtime and on call rotation as needed to meet business needs. What Makes You Stand Out: • Experience working on high voltage maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting. • Experience with higher voltage power distribution equipment such as transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and battery systems (up to 15,000 Volts). • A state of Michigan Electrical License; must be willing and able to obtain a Michigan electrical Journeyman license if not already licensed. • Technical degree or associates degree.
