Journeyman Electrician

Job Description Under general supervision, coordinate and conduct general electrical repair work and troubleshooting, perform preventive maintenance, installation services and construction work in accordance with safety standards and fire state electrical codes. Responsibilities Essential Job Duties: • Performs assignments in the layout, installation, repair, alteration, and maintenance of a wide variety of complex electrical equipment such as automatic controls, emergency generators, switchboards, transfer switches, lighting systems, fire alarms and smoke detection systems. • Analyzes and troubleshoots electrical problems with a wide variety of electrical equipment, replacing defective parts, reassembles effected equipment and tests for proper operation and safety. • Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled or required on all types of electrical equipment as recommended by the manufacturer and on-site safety programs. • Maintains necessary work records including equipment records, logs, and time sheets. • Read and can interpret electrical schematics. • Ensures that all work meets prescribed standards of quality and ensures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes • Detects and reports to the Supervisor any unusual conditions, defective materials, faulty equipment, and equipment operating or installed incorrectly. • Assists other maintenance personnel on projects as directed • May perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Skills, Education and Experience: • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required • Minimum 2 years related work experience to include industrial environment • State of Michigan Journeyman's Electrical License or a State of Michigan Journeyman Industrial Electrician's License required • Working knowledge of electrical systems • Ability to read and comprehend complicated blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas, and handbooks • Must be familiar with the National Electric Codes, electrical theory, and be comfortable working with high voltage three phase circuits, generators, transformers, switchgear • Ability to use various testing devices related to the electrical and mechanical trades • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required • Must have a current valid driver's license • Working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications used for compiling data and work records • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment • Ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner Salary: $32/hr. - $34/hr. The hourly rate is between $32.00 and $34.00per hour, and the anticipated annual base compensation range for this position will be $66,560- $70,720 inclusive of required overtime Working Conditions: Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements. Position Description: We are looking for an Electric Distribution Designer to join our ICE team to help improve infrastructure in our Michigan offices. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of direct experience in electrical distribution design within a utility setting. The Electrical Distribution Designer will be responsible for designing, planning and coordinating low voltage electric distribution projects. This role requires a solution-oriented individual who can maintain high-quality standards while adhering to tight deadlines.The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. Typical responsibilities include: • Design electrical distribution systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to gather project requirements and provide updates on progress. • Communicate with public to inform them of associated upcoming project work in their area to minimize disruption and maintain community engagement. • Complete asset assessment of overhead and underground electric equipment. • Produce detailed design documentation, including drawings and specifications, while ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Complete engineering functions and calculations (i.e. voltage drop, flicker, etc.) • Perform site assessments and feasibility studies for proposed projects. • Prepare and facilitate requests for forestry, permitting and Right-of-Way acquisition. • Perform detailed analysis of utility poles utilizing PoleForeman software. • Prepare joint pole authorizations. • Provide technical oversight and QAQC of team designs and analysis. • Maintain organized project files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference. • Contribute to a positive team environment, fostering collaboration and open communication. • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development. • Maintain a safe working environment.
