Electrical Technician

Electrical Technician As the lead electrical service technician, you will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to complete installations, machine evaluations, and service work. You will work closely with a mechanical service technician and a service engineer, interacting with customers and maintenance teams. This role involves working with PLCs, robots, and automation equipment, as well as controls, I/O, and sensors. You will need to read blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, assembly drawings, and 3D models. Travel is required 25-30% of the time, including potential trips to Mexico and Canada. Most installations last a week, with weekends and holidays spent at home. All travel expenses are covered, and a company vehicle will be provided for site visits. Responsibilities • Lead electrical service technician duties at customer sites. • Complete installations, machine evaluations, and service work. • Collaborate with a mechanical service technician and service engineer. • Interact with customers and maintenance teams on-site. • Work with PLCs, robots, and automation equipment. • Handle controls, I/O, and sensors. • Read and interpret blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, assembly drawings, and 3D models. • Travel 25-30% of the time, including trips to Mexico and Canada. • Ensure installations are completed within a week, with weekends and holidays spent at home. • Drive a company vehicle from site to site as needed. Essential Skills • At least 5 years of field service technician or industrial maintenance experience. • Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including PLC troubleshooting, 480V, and 3-phase systems. • Mechanical troubleshooting experience. • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics. • Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, AutoCAD drawings, or 3D models. • Willingness to travel 25-30% and up to 2 weeks at a time. • Possession of a US passport or willingness to obtain one. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with robotics (e.g., Fanuc) and automation. • Relevant education, trade school, or certifications. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tiffin, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Lead Electrical Service Technician

The role of the service and installation manager is to manage the workflow through the department ensuring the quality of the deliverables, and to grow the service team. The service manager reports to the production manager and receives project information and requirements from the PM. The manager will work with the project team leaders and assembly team leader for the project requirements and service team direction. The service manager will communicate with the project team leaders and PM when additional resources or equipment are needed, as well as when issues arise with completing the tasks to the requirements or timeframe. The service manager is tasked with growing the department. Both from a physical standpoint and individual team member growth. From the physical standpoint, the manager will work with the HR manager to attract, interview, and hire new team members. On the individual side, the manager will facilitate training programs, internally and externally, working with management and other department team leaders. Responsibilities • Analysis of project requirements for ability to complete and meet the required dates. • Estimate required time for jobs, and identify the need for outsourcing with the PM. • Determine and obtain quotes for materials, tooling, and supplies and coordinate with the PM and purchasing. • Coordinate and direct the service team through each project. Assign tasks to specific team members with their growth in mind. • Attend production and requested project meetings. • Update the PM with the status of service and installment tasks & budget on each open project. • Schedule in change/rework requirements as needed. • Ensure the quality of the department deliverables and address any quality concerns immediately with repair and prevention. Initiate Corrective Action Request as necessary. • Ensure a safe working environment for team members and ensure each team member works safely using the measures put in place. • Ensure final project information and service reports are complete and marked up drawings are delivered to the engineering manager. • Assist HR with recruiting, interviewing, and training new hires. • Provide service team performance evaluations. • Provide staff disciplinary action with HR assistance. • Assist HR and management in developing training programs for new hires and work study students. • Provide budgets for equipment and tooling upgrades. • Coordinate with PM to cover for planned time off.
