Machine Builder Electrician

RWC, Inc., a global leader in the design and production of innovative manufacturing systems is now accepting resumes for a Machine Builder Electrician. Machine Builder Electricians perform the electrical assembly of machines per RWC’s and customer’s specifications. Job Responsibilities: • Identifies product problems and submits to Elect II/Elect I or in his/her absence to Project Manager to arrive at solutions. • Operates all machinery assigned to the Machine Builder Electrician Classification. • Provides service in customer plant when assigned. • Directs installation and machine set-up in customer plant to job specifications when job appropriate (i.e. single/double station). • Reviews necessary guarding and safety requirements with Elect II/Elect I and assists with guarding of the machine as directed. • Utilizes ERP system to understand status of component and purchased parts. • Assists management with training/development of less-experienced members within the classification or an assigned Resource Technician Apprentice. • Plans, electrically assembles, wires and sets up machines of all designs to make a single/double station or an individual machine. • Determines from engineering drawings, the type of device tags and mounts in proper location per drawings. • Plans and wires control panels, push button boxes and displays, etc. and associated bracketry for installation. • Plans and executes wire and cable management, utilizing conduit, seal tight, wire way, etc. • Estimates length of wire/runs, cable, pulls and terminates wire runs. • Designs and installs brackets for control panels, switches, cams, etc. when assigned. • Interprets electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, etc. • Interprets pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical assembly, lubrication and water diagrams and efficiently utilizes the information to accomplish the electrical construction. • Performs continuity, battery box and voltage tests. • Creates J-box holes, cord fittings and sub plates if required. • Writes clear and comprehensive service reports. • Performs and/or assists with necessary maintenance when assigned. • Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements: • Must either possess or be able to acquire and practice knowledge of basic computer skills and the ability to adapt to all applicable software that is required for the Company’s operations in the building process. • Must either possess or be able to acquire and practice effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills necessary to work with employees within the company as well as customers and vendors related to performing the essential job functions of this classification. • Must be able to travel independently to and from customers’ job sites to meet the customers’ requirements. • Must be able to pass the Machine Builder Electrician test. • Must be able to complete work in a safe manner. • Must possess knowledge and ability to read and interpret detailed drawings pertaining to the job. • Must be able to work in a teamwork environment to meet our customers’ requirements. • Must be able to accomplish work assignments independently with minimal supervision. • Must be able to follow reasonable directions and execute assignments effectively. • Must be able to pass the state approved written and hands on test in order to effectively operate a fork truck. • Must be able to pass the state approved written and hands on test in order to effectively operate a floor operated overhead crane. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: • Normal manufacturing environment with exposure to dust and excessive noise associated with the manufacturing process. • Domestic and international travel, including air and ground travel. • The ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly. • The ability to safely climb ladders regularly.
