Responsibilities for electrician • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, instructions for assembling or connecting electronic units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components • Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning components • Assemble, test, or maintain electrical components • Maintain any paperwork and completely fill out job records. • Maintain and repair pump controls, alarm systems • Maintain and install emergency generator systems • Will include other tasks as necessary for the operation of the company • Undertake fault-finding and diagnostic work as required to repair equipment such as pumps, screens, motors, instrumentation & switch gear • Ensure all work undertaken is to a good standard, done in a safe manner and complying with the company’s health and safety procedures at all times • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels • Repair motors, wiring and controls • Perform all work assignments in a neat and quality manner • Perform the housekeeping duties in the Electrical Shop and work areas • Perform any and all duties assigned by Supervisor, whether the assignments are electrically related or not • Must be able to work any shift, holidays, weekends (on-call, so not all holidays or weekends) • Comply with the company’s work rules and policies as explained in the company Employee Handbook Qualifications for electrician • Basic electrical installation • Basic electrical circuits • Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals • Ability to plan, organize and lead • Working knowledge of switch gear, transfer switches and ground fault systems • Working knowledge of electrical and lighting • Knowledge and experience in low voltage (120, 208, 240, 277, 480 V) AC motors and control • Maintain Good Housekeeping skills • Ability to read wiring schematics and understand relay ladder logic
