Job Summary To design, install, repair and maintain all electrical equipment and perform necessary mechanical duties. Salary Starting Rate: $23.34 + Shift Differential .50¢ for 2nd shift and .60¢ for 3rd shift. Progression increases up to $27.52 • Shifts 7A-3P, 3P-11P, 11-7A (Must be available to work all shifts at the time of hire.) Responsibilities • Installs, maintains and repairs all electrical equipment. • Trouble shoots electrical systems and makes repairs on all equipment. • Installs and relocates equipment. • Takes responsibility for all related electrical considerations such as voltage and amperage requirements. • Designs, tests and installs electrical/electronic modifications on equipment consistent with current technologies. • Maintains an inventory of electrical supplies. • Trains and/or assists employees of lesser skill. • Works on electrical and mechanical work requests. • Performs all duties of Grade B Electrician Mechanic. • Attends training seminars, schooling, etc. at the company's discretion to maintain competencies in current technologies in the electrical/electronics field. • Complies with all safety policies (e.g. guard use, hearing protection, etc.), reporting any violation to immediate supervisor. • Prepares daily record of work performed. • Monitors inventory level of routinely used production materials and supplies, informing appropriate personnel of inventory needs. Qualifications • Knowledge would normally be acquired through a high school degree or equivalent program and satisfactory completion of 3 years as Grade B Electrician Maintenance Mechanic and 3 technical courses approved by management in a related field (2 courses in electrical/electronics) or have 5 years experience in the electrical/electronics field with some technical training. • Ability to read and apply content of work orders, operating manuals, and other related information in order to design, install, repair and maintain equipment in an acceptable manner. • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, mechanical drawings. • Ability to write to maintain supply inventory and to record work performed daily. • Ability to perform mathematics used to design, install, repair and maintain equipment in an acceptable manner. • Ability to independently complete tasks as assigned by others. • Ability to communicate to explain or interpret well-defined technical issues or procedures and discuss problems with factory and office personnel. • Ability to understand and interpret complex electrical schematics to solve technical problems. • Ability to solve complex problems to accomplish optimum efficiency, productivity and safety where many alternative solutions are available. • Ability to make decisions to install, maintain and repair electrical or mechanical equipment for optimum efficiency, productivity and safety. • Ability to use shop tools including machine tools, hand tools, welding equipment, electrical/electronic test equipment, lathe, shaper, milling machine, surface grinder, etc. • Knowledge of programmable controllers, micro processors, relay logic and related technologies.
