Job Title: Industrial Electrician Department: Maintenance Reports to: Maintenance Foreman FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly Position Summary: The Industrial Electrician's responsibilities consist of preserving the excellent condition and functionality of our business premises by overseeing the facilities day-to-day electrical maintenance operations, performing installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and service work. A successful Industrial Electrician will have the ability to problem solve, work with a team-orientated attitude as well as work independently under little to no supervision. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Industrial Electricians perform a wide range of functions, including but not limited to the following: • Observe installed systems to detect the existence of electrical hazards and other problems. • Set up work areas and obtain appropriate parts and materials. • Assist with assembling and installing new equipment and machines. • Assist with the development and perform preventative maintenance procedures and perform specified maintenance on machines and equipment. • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment. • Modify existing equipment as required to reduce downtime and maximize effectiveness. • Provide technical support and/or problem-solving activities. • Maintain a clean and functioning work area for safety. • Assist in establishing and maintaining preventative maintenance procedures for plant machines and equipment. • Use hand and power tools related to the electrical trades. • Perform related duties (including those in other areas of production) as assigned by Supervisor. • Follow all company safety guidelines including wearing the proper protective equipment for job. • Maintain compliance with all company guidelines and procedures. • Inspect buildings, equipment and systems to identify any issues. • Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard. • Perform general maintenance tasks. • Run conduit and new circuits. • Troubleshoot electrical systems and repair. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. • 3 years industrial Electrical maintenance experience required. • Boiler Certification and/or Welding Certification a plus. • PLC Experience a plus. Physical Requirements: • Regularly required to sit, speak, and listen for extended periods of time • Frequently required to use eye‐hand coordination, repetitive hand movements and manual dexterity to handle, finger, or feel • Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time • Required to bend, reach to shoulder level and lift, carry, twist, push and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus • Hearing level within normal/average range • Must be comfortable with heights • Ability to wear personal protective gear (PPE) correctly for the entirety of shift Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to season change. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
