Industrial Electrical Technician

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of troubleshooting, installing electrical devices and wiring, electrical codes, blueprints, and safety procedures. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot/observe installed systems to detect the existence of electrical hazards and other problems. • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial and industrial environments. • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical code specifications. • Diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits to ensure safety and compatibility using testing devices. • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. • Run conduit and new circuits. • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment. . • Assist with assembling and installing new equipment and machines. • Perform routine maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and effectively. • Collaborate with plant managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure timely completion of projects. • Adherent to safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards at all times. • Provide technical support and/or problem-solving activities. Minimum Qualifications: • Must be authorized to legally work in the United States. • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program required. • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship. • 10+ years’ experience in commercial or industrial electrical work is required. • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations. • Proficient in using electrical tools and testing equipment. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces. • Boiler Certification and/or Welding Certification is a plus. • PLC Experience is a plus. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time. • Ability to bend, reach at, below and above shoulder level. • Ability to lift, carry, twist, push and/or pull more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying a minimum of 50 pounds. • Visual acuity required to perform job duties safely and effectively. • Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions, alarms, and other sounds. • Ability to work at all heights. • Required to comply with correct and proper use of Personal Protective Gear (PPE). Working Environment: Exterior and interior ambient temperatures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is loud and requires approved and provided hearing protection. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
