Sr. Solar Installer

• **IMMEDIATE OPENINGS**** Empower Solar is a full service, residential solar installer looking experienced and driven individuals to join our ever-expanding team. We are currently looking for a full-time, experienced solar Installer to join our installation team. The Sr. Installer is responsible for assisting installation team members, installation of all photovoltaic system roof components, creating and following string diagram, laying out arrays on roof, ensure successful operation of complete photovoltaic system, documenting installation steps with photos, and communicate project status with Project Coordinator and Management. Responsibilities and Duties: • Supports the Roof Lead to successfully complete a quality installation • Complete roof top installation from layout, racking, assembly of modules, installation of all mounting hardware, and electrical equipment Bend precise EMT conduit • Pull wires, installation of DC string inverters or microinverter systems • Operate power tools in a safe manner • Managing time and tasks effectively with a sense of urgency • Follows building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures. • Assist with installation progress photo uploads to Site capture • Always maintain a safe and clean job site • Follow all safety and OSHA related practices while on job sites • Gather and assist in loading of all necessary materials needed from the shop to jobsite • Ability to read and follow designs that are given for installation • Attend team safety meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products as well as learning best practices delivering quality workmanship • Additional duties required as needed Qualifications: • Minimum 1-2-years Solar installation experience • Construction background and quick learning skills • Ability to work in challenging environments (hot sun, cold, wind, tight spaces, etc.) • Capable of standing for long stretches of time and working at heights (on rooftops, climb ladders and stairs) • Ability to safely handle tools and materials commonly found in the construction and solar industries, such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc. • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during work, including but not limited to peers and customers • Ability to operate a computer and smart phone for communication and uploading • Current Driver’s license, and clean drivers abstract Personal Characteristics: • Honesty and Integrity • Must be a team player and a people person who enjoys talking to clients. • Provide exceptional customer service and relations. • Ability to prioritize and multitask. • Great attention to detail. The employee will frequently be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds. Requirements: • Clean driving and background record • Valid CA Driver's License • The ability to travel within California on a Weekly basis based on project location. • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements Pay: The expected pay range for this position at one of our California branches is $50,000-$75,000. This range reflects the actual range of earnings of employees in this position for 2024. The pay structure for this position is a base hourly rate of $16.50 per hour for Sr. Installers; plus additional piece rate structure as follows: $4 per panel installed for completed projects. Your Impact The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy sites near Stockton, California. The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while always maintaining safety and professionalism. These are local sites-candidates should reside within 50 miles of the Stockton, California areas. Core Responsibilities • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment. • Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules. • Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. • Testing/troubleshooting installed Solar equipment and ensuring proper working order. • Must have a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). • Able work in a solo as well as a group environment. • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience • 2+ years' experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) on solar power plants is preferred. • Preventative maintenance experience on Solar Utility equipment is preferred. • Candidates should possess strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills. • Specific solar experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment (TMEIC/SMA/Sungrow/Nextracker/ATI, etc.) is preferred. • Takes initiative to escalate issues at site. • Ability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into Apprentices. • High aptitude and a strong work ethic are a must. Physical/Work Environment At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards. • Must live within approximately 50 miles of the Stockton, California areas. • Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors. • Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds). • Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an "on call" service availability via telephone/text message. • Travel requirements dependent on support of the company (up to 25% travel).
