New Homes Solar Field Technician

Description: New Homes Solar Field Tech Location: Central Valley Reports to: Field Operations Manager Travel: Hybrid (home/office) and field role (mostly field) Company Citadel Roofing and Solar is a growing company made up of industry veterans with more than 30 years of experience and a stellar reputation for service excellence to new construction home builders throughout California. We are currently looking for a Solar and Battery Field Technician to join our growing team! Description Commission PV and battery systems within one week after installation. Troubleshoot systems to ensure successful operation. Perform customer service appointments on time and communicate with customers regarding system status. Conduct solar inspections with AHJ and/or utility when required, including setting up ladders for roof or attic access per inspector requests. Provide Citadel’s interconnection team with required documents (e.g., signed permits) for utility interconnection applications. Support the New Homes Solar Superintendent and communicate daily with activity updates. Responsibilities • Track solar and battery installations and schedule commissioning within one week of installation • Update all commissioning records with required documents and photos • Provide weekly reports on attempted and successful commissionings • Give feedback to Superintendent and crew leads on installation issues as they arise • Communicate daily with Superintendent regarding activity updates • Maintain truck stock and submit timely restock requests to the warehouse • Track and update installation of cell modems when not installed by the crew • Submit accurate and timely timecards to the Superintendent Skills • Experience in residential rooftop solar installation • Experience with Tesla, Enphase, Franklin, and LG battery storage systems • Strong organizational skills to manage daily activities and travel routes • Experience troubleshooting and auditing solar installations • Knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols • Excellent communication skills (internal and external) Strong time management skills to meet daily activity goals Compensation and Benefits • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance • Free basic life insurance • Section 125 Flexible Spending Account (health and dependent care) • Section 125 Health Savings Account (HSA) • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • 401(k) with company match • Vacation, Sick, and Holiday pay Requirements: Qualifications • Basic computer and iPad proficiency • Knowledge of Enphase and SolarEdge systems • Tesla certification for battery storage systems (Enphase, Franklin, LG preferred) • Ability to set up and use extension ladders on single- and two-story homes • Ability to read and interpret solar layouts and SLDs • Self-driven and able to work independently • Knowledge of construction, preferably new home production building
