Job Title: Solar Construction Manager This position is 100% travel - Candidates can be based anywhere in the US. Experience as a CONSTRUCTION MANAGER or SUPERINTENDENT within Utility Scale Solar Construction projects is required. Established Solar Tracking manufacturer/installation company is seeking a Construction Manager of Solar installations to act as a subject matter expert working with subcontractors to install their Tracking products on large scale ground mount solar sites throughout the US. Experience as a construction Solar, Field Engineer or Site manager or Solar QC manager is applicable- overseeing the construction and administrative tasks on a Utility scale solar installation with trackers. This is a salaried position ranging from $90-95K, depending on experience + daily per diem Holiday and vacation included This is a Long term contract to hire position Description: The goal of the Construction Manager is to facilitate a positive experience with The Client. He/she ensures that products and Installation out-perform customer expectations and are of the highest quality possible and develops customer loyalty by optimizing the product to the customer’s needs and providing great technical onsite support services on the Solar Tracking product. Responsibilities: • Provides technical support for customers on sites throughout the US, ensuring a best in class customer experience and providing product and systems expertise to maximize customer value. subject matter expert, field engineer. • Translate and interpret wiring/ construction schematics to support Construction installation. Civil, Structural and Electrical. • Adherence to OSHA safety regulations and Safety standards. Ensures no employee or subcontractor operations proceed without proper safety compliance. • Responsible party for conducting, documenting and reporting safety meetings. • Assist in preplanning of projects including plan review and comments, manpower, project sequencing, material takeoffs, material requisitions and reviewing subcontractors scopes of work. • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project managers, project engineers and client. • Work with Project Management to develop accurate construction schedule forecasts and to create daily reports to track construction progress, material deliveries, installation issues, tool issues and others site activity. • Work directly and in conjunction with subcontractors, temporary labor, Electricians and employees on planning, scheduling of construction and quality control applications. • Provide guidance and technical support to the personal, temporary labor and subs on issues concerning electrical and building components/ applications. Skills & Qualifications: • 4 years of Utility scale SOLAR construction experience, of that at least 2-3 years in a leadership role as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman or Solar QC Manager. • Strong understanding of hydraulic/mechanical and electrical systems. • Proficient in Microsoft Office/reporting. • Understanding of construction math and strong problem solving skills. • Strong self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Strong leadership skills. • Proven ability to maintain client relationships. • Safe Working Practice • Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule and under budget. • Detail-oriented. • Willing to travel up to 100% of the time. All hotel, flights and per diem will be prepaid when traveling. Will be issued a company vehicle when traveling A daily food per diem will also be provided. Responsibilities and Duties • Responsible for the construction worker agreement of subcontractors, inspection and logistics of large-scale roof and ground mount PV electrical systems. • Solar/PV construction & commissioning. • Inspection services for solar/PV, electrical and general construction • Interpret specifications and read blueprints. • Assist in lay out of work for crew. • Preplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job schedule. • Order and coordinate delivery of necessary materials. • Comply with all documentation requirements and fill out all project related reports, such as: Daily Reports, Safety Reports, Inspection Reports, 2 & 3 week look ahead schedules, etc. • Audit safe work practices, ensuring PPE is available and used properly. • Assist superintendents with training, appraising work performance and addressing concerns of employees in the field. Qualifications • 3-5 years' experience in Electrical Sub-contractor supervision • 5-8 years of experience in Commercial Solar Electrical Work • Valid CA General Electrician License preferred • OSHA 30 • Valid driver license • Knowledge of DAS or SCADA installations. Including but not limited to the installation of a systems weather station and various components. • Ability to interpret the designs' intent. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Moderate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hands and arms to operate equipment.
