We are looking for a professional Controls Engineer to specify, design, implement, and maintain complex controls systems and software programming on production equipment and associated machinery while solving complex problems. #INDE • Accountable for directing controls engineering activities for site expansions and major capital projects and delivering comprehensive support to ensure operational excellence. Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and contractors to design, install, integrate and start-up new equipment and process controls. This includes selecting and approving electrical and instrumentation components, reviewing and approving electrical and process control network designs, evaluating software, conducting machine acceptance testing, and resolving issues. • Responsible for specifying Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, instrumentation, network components, and analysis software in accordance with standards. • Assess, identify, schematically design, and make complex program modifications in DCS, PLC logic, HMI programs, and servo controller logic for production equipment and associated assets. Provide quality checks to ensure correct software development. • Perform high-level troubleshooting, in-depth critical thinking, and utilize all internal & external resources to solve any electrical, mechanical, or process problem. Lead & assist others in troubleshooting machinery, equipment, components, and programs including PLCs, HMIs, Servo systems, and Robotics. • Provide technical and operations training to Controls Technicians, production, warehouse, and other personnel as needed. Share knowledge and techniques with team members and coordinate the training of new personnel. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in electrical/controls/mechanical Engineering, or related field. • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with demonstrated results. • Experience with industrial control networks design, setup, and troubleshooting. • Focused controls engineering experience including specifying control elements/devices, programming control loops, troubleshooting/optimizing processes. • Advanced PLC-based hardware and software, Distributed Control Systems, and automation experience. • Proven ability to lead large capital projects. • Proficiency in: • CAD software, AutoCAD • Microsoft Office • Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills interfacing with all levels of the organization; ability to simplify complex issues and resolve issues. • Computer skills including specific controls programming software, email, word processing, spreadsheet applications, and project management software. • Prior supervisory experience is a plus. • Prior experience in any of these areas is a plus: • Raw Water and Wastewater Treatment • Utilities – Compressors and Boilers • Ability to travel to consultant engineering office, vendors, and expansion site.
