Hotel Chief Engineer

Job Overview The Hotel Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring that all facilities are functioning optimally and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of various systems, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems. The Chief Engineer will manage a team of maintenance staff, coordinate projects, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while maintaining high standards of service. Duties • Supervise and lead the engineering team in daily operations, ensuring effective maintenance management across all hotel facilities. • Oversee the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical systems (including high and low voltage), plumbing, and other mechanical systems. • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, manage inventory, and schedule preventive maintenance. • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards. • Manage projects related to facility upgrades or repairs, including coordinating with contractors and vendors as necessary. • Provide training and support to maintenance staff on equipment operation, safety protocols, and best practices. • Maintain schematics for all building systems to facilitate troubleshooting and repairs. • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Experience • Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role within the hospitality industry. • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in industrial maintenance preferred. • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and electrical systems is essential. • Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively. • Project management skills with a focus on timely completion of tasks within budget constraints. • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus. • Experience using tools such as an ohmmeter for electrical testing is advantageous.
