Mechanical Design Engineer (Fixtures, Cabinets, or Furniture)

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Fixtures, Cabinets, or Furniture) Location: Dallas. TX Position: Permanent Job Summary: • The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed technical drawings and production documents for custom millwork, casework, Kiosk, Fixtures and furniture projects. • The role involves translating conceptual designs into precise, manufacturable shop drawings while ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to client standards. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare Approval Drawing & detailed shop drawings for millwork, furniture, casework, Kiosk, Fixtures for Food & Retail Industry based on Quote architectural drawings. • Interpret and apply client design standards (e.g., Wawa, Starbucks, etc.) to ensure consistency across all deliverables. • Coordinate with project managers, designers, and manufacturing teams to resolve design or fabrication issues. • Develop BOM, assembly details, and material specifications for production. • Review and incorporate engineering feedback, redlines, and markups from clients or senior engineers & communicate with the Offshore Team (~10-12 engineers). • Ensure all drawings comply with manufacturing feasibility, hardware selection, and material efficiency. • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input on design optimization and cost efficiency. • Ensure timely submission of drawings and revisions as per project schedule. • Support continuous improvement initiatives and documentation of best practices. Required Skills & Competencies: • Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory) with basic knowledge of AutoCAD. • Strong understanding of millwork construction methods, joinery, and material usage (wood, laminate, metal, solid surface). • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and translate them into manufacturable solutions. • Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams. • Attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in documentation. • Time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Qualifications: • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Millwork Design or equivalent. • Minimum 3 to 6+ years of relevant experience in millwork, furniture, or retail fixture design. • Experience with retail, commercial, or hospitality millwork projects preferred. Job Summary The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer mentors junior engineers. Performs the planning, system design, system implementation and support of our data center HVAC systems. Lead small to medium scale HVAC projects and the roll out of mechanical HVAC engineering initiatives. Assists with development and implementation of mechanical HVAC engineering design standards, policies and procedures. Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, construction management and regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures. Plans and directs day to day operations and strategic direction of delivery of either a construction project or delivery of operations for a data center facility.
