Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer is responsible for all administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the hotel as they directly relate to the engineering department. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the safe and profitable operation of the hotel engineering department. • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Comply at all times with Peachtree Hospitality Management Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. • Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff. • Supervise and train all engineering staff in SOP’s and Loss Prevention standards. • Adhere to the annual budget for the department. • Post all engineering staff schedules and monitor for overtime and changes. • Develop and implement plans to maintain the property, equipment, grounds, and other assets in an acceptable state of repair. • Ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested, and certified per standards. • Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner. • Follow-up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and report findings to the front desk. Take immediate action as necessary. • Actively participate in energy conservation programs. • Ensure compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA). • Administer all vendor contracts controlled by the Engineering department. • Make sure all daily work orders are assigned to proper engineers, either verbally or in writing. • Check inventory on parts and keep in stock all mechanical, electrical, and kitchen equipment parts. • Perform other duties as requested by management. • Attend and/or conduct all training/meetings as requested by management Peachtree Group provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Mechanic

SUMMARY The Maintenance Mechanic executes scheduled, preventative, and predictive maintenance tasks. Also, offers suggestions to improve the maintenance program. Assists operations in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Recommend measures to improve equipment performance and maintenance systems. Responsible for tools and maintaining supply of tools. Performs any task necessary for plant production in accordance with the Plant Superintendent’s direction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Assists in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. • Execute tasks during scheduled down times including maintenance and inspections, report deficiencies. • Strives for compliance with MSHA and Company safety regulations, standards, and procedures. • Work closely with Operations to ensure that the plant runs efficiently. • Directly reports to the Maintenance Lead for any issues, problems, breakdowns, and needs. • Understands all plants process flow, and any plant limiting factors. • Becomes familiar with all plant equipment to include the following: belt feeders; Vibratory screen; slurry pumps; cyclones; hydrosizer; dewatering screens; conveyors; fluid bed dryer; rotary drum dryer; baghouse; fans; burners; air actuated gates; bucket elevators; dust collectors; load spout & filter module; truck scales; track belts; bobcat, telehandlers, manlift operation; be accountable for tools. • Maintains: skirt board rubber; primary and secondary scrapers; belt splices; idlers; bearings. • Inspects bucket elevators for tracking, buckets, splices, bearings, shafts, head, and tail pulleys. • Ensure that all air actuated flop gates are operating properly. • Repairs and maintenance of large blower fans – pillow block bearings and v-belt drives. • Champions company policies, procedures, culture, etc. Leads by example. • Conduct scheduled and preventive maintenance tasks, as necessary. • Serves as an excellent Company ambassador and safety champion at all times. JOB SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Must be knowledgeable in mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic maintenance & repair of machinery/equipment. • Ability to set spherical roller bearings on taper lock bushes. • Ability to set and align V-belt drive systems. • Knowledge of conveyor belt tracking and repair is an advantage. • Metal fabrication and welding techniques – vertical pass; torch use; etc. • Maintenance / Millwright or similar experience. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Excellent organizational skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events. • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level that allows for the safe and accurate performance of job duties. WORKING CONDITIONS • Work is based inside and outside of the processing plant facility and on a mine site. • Position requires the ability to lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds. • Typically bends, stops, and crouches on a regular basis. • Overnight and/or weekend work may be required. • This is a safety sensitive job with safety sensitive job duties.
