Mechanical Engineer - Industrial/Manufacturing

You are a P.E. with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of manufacturing and production experience. You want to use your training, education, and experience in a new and meaningful way. Robson Forensic, a longstanding national forensic expert firm with an excellent reputation in the legal and scientific community, is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Expert like you who specializes in plant and/or process engineering. Description: The Mechanical Engineer will provide investigation, analysis, reports, and testimony where technical and scientific answers are needed to resolve civil and criminal litigation, and insurance claims. Areas of potential litigation and claims include industrial equipment, safety (equipment, products, procedures), material handling, hand tools, and plant layouts. Typical investigations involve inadequacies in: machine guarding, instructions, warnings, or personal protective equipment (PPE). Expertise must include design or specification of industrial equipment, material handling equipment (such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and cranes), industrial facility operation and maintenance processes, utility systems (steam, water, air, gas, etc.), and manufacturing processes. Experience and training in reliability centered maintenance (RCM), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), root cause failure analysis, site incident investigations, and hazard analysis/risk assessments is desirable. Location: Dallas/Fort Worth/Irving, TX Minimum Requirements: • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and/or a closely-related field from an ABET/EAC accredited school. • You are a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or are able to obtain licensure in at least one state within six months. • You have 10+ years of manufacturing and production experience, including design, installation, start-up, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting spanning a variety of industrial equipment. • You can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. • You are an independent worker who can offer and receive support/mentoring in a firm with over 100 scientists, engineers, and other professionals. • You can manage a portfolio of 40-60 projects/clients. • You have excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills. • You are willing to travel about 20% on average. Mechanical Design Engineer II

Oil States is looking for candidates for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer II. This position is on-site full time and located in Arlington, TX. CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS – By contractual requirements, the project and job location for this position requires that all persons establish proof of US Citizenship. POSITION SUMMARY: Data Analytics: Without supervision, support an engineering team with data analysis of elastomer test results while also using similar data to support ongoing projects and future proposals. Products include shock and vibration isolation mounts, laminated elastomer bearing based components for offshore riser and tendon connections as well as military applications, industrial clutch and brakes and hang-off systems for offshore riser components. Project Engineering Support: Without supervision, support an engineering team as a Project Engineer to support new and existing projects as described above. Requires close partnering with operations, manufacturing engineering, quality and project management. Some interface with Customers, certifying authorities and material/outside fabrication vendors also required. ENGINEERING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Data Analysis • Using guides established by Oil States, interpret elastomer test data to properly assess and accept elastomer materials, interpret full scale test data for final product acceptance, and forecast final product performance based on elastomeric test data. • Based on elastomeric test data, help to refine FEA models of the elastomeric components to increase accuracy of the final FEA output. • As Project Engineer/Product Design, demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the associated industry standards, in-house codes and engineering principles that govern the design of assigned product lines. • Act as a single point of contact with the Project Manager to coordinate engineering activities with design, analysis, drafting, manufacturing engineering and technical writing • Design elastomeric components and associated metal structures through use of in-house codes, industry standards and fundamental structure design practices. • Interpret results from finite element analysis to verify component structural and thermal performance • Translate designs from concept to drawing with 3D or 2D CAD software • Generate input and review drawings for format, technical accuracy as well as producibility • Generate input, help assemble and review design bases and reports, test plans, material specifications and any other essential engineering documentation • Material Review Board activities • Other responsibilities may include: • Capable of leading research and development projects in terms of new products and materials • Ability to lead the design, construction and testing of prototypes to confirm new designs and materials • Direct interface with Customers and Certifying Authorities, justifying our products meet project/industry standard requirements • Mentor less experienced team members • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related degree with at least 2 years of direct experience; BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with at least 3 years of direct experience; or at least 8 years of direct experience without a degree • Experience as a detail component/structural design engineer if a Product Design SME • Experience with Computer-aided-engineering/design software, including advanced level of proficiency using SolidWorks or AutoCAD if a Product Design SME • Familiarity with elastomeric materials • Advanced level of experience with data analytics using Excel Macros, MatLab or Python pr • Proficient with statistical analysis • Excellent organizational skills • Detail-focused and results-oriented attitude with a sense of urgency • Handle multiple tasks at one time • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills • 5% to 10% travel required, including international travel PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Office environment – prolonged sitting, use of a computer, telephone and other office equipment • Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs • Lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally We may also consider candidates for a lower-level position depending on the experience and qualifications of the candidate and the needs of the business. As our Mechanical Process Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating tooling systems for our manufacturing processes. What you'll be doing: • Design and develop molds and fixtures for composite processing • Create detailed tooling specifications and drawings for manufacturing • Oversee tool fabrication with external vendors • Develop heating and cooling systems • Create and implement tool validation protocols • Design part extraction systems and handling fixtures • Develop tool maintenance procedures and schedules • Modify and optimize tooling based on process trials • Support process development and pilot production • Implement tool monitoring and control systems • Design fixturing for secondary operations and finishing What you will bring to this role: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Tool Design or related field) • 4+ years of experience in composite tooling design and development or similar fields (Injection Molding, Hot Pressing, Roll To Roll Processes, Battery Manufacturing etc.) • Experience with composite tooling preferred • Proficiency in CAD software for tool design • Knowledge of tool materials and fabrication methods for composites • Understanding of composite molding processes (e.g RTM, Autoclave, Press) • Experience with tool validation and qualification • Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional control • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Excellent communication abilities Extra points for the following: • Experience with aerospace or satellite component tooling • Experience with heated tool systems • Background in designing tools for high-precision components • Understanding of composite material behavior during processing • Basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics.
