Responsibilities: Ensures activities and site conditions comply with safety programs and the Company’s IIPP. • Participates in planning meetings to review drawings, determine priorities, and assist in scheduling the work. • Establishes and monitors construction methods and practices for most effective cost control for work schedule, labor, materials, and equipment needs. • Assists in hiring and assigning craft workers. • Works with project superintendent for the control, care/protection, and use of tools, equipment, and company assets on site. • Orders and coordinates procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times with planned work schedules. • Confers with supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to maximize efficiency and prevent delays. • Assists project manager and engineer with change orders and extra work requests. • Purchases on-site materials such as pipe, fittings and other mechanical supplies approved by project manager. • Works with project engineer to schedule major process equipment deliveries and hoisting subcontractors. • Coordinates mechanical work with civil work with such needed items as pump pads, and supports; and coordinates with electrical and control subcontractors for start-up. • Coordinates with process equipment vendors at start-up. • Inspects work in progress to ensure the likelihood that workmanship conforms to specifications and meets construction schedules. • Meets regularly with engineer and inspectors regarding required work, quality of work, and other job-related issues. • Oversees collection of timecards and tracks cost codes to ensure accuracy of planned versus actual labor costs. • Confers with project manager and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within work force. • Confers with project manager, engineer, and inspectors to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods. • Assists in preparation of progress reports, materials, and job-related costs. • Assists project manager and superintendent with project close out. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Requires a minimum of six years of experience in construction industry. • Ability to provide overall supervision of field activities related to construction projects. • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and on-going relations among managers, co- workers, subcontractors, and business associates. This includes cooling towers, water cooled chillers, air cooled chillers, hot water and steam boilers, geothermal systems, etc.  • Revit and CAD experience  • Ability to use load calculation software such as Trace700 and other energy modeling softwares such as eQuest, IES is a plus.  • Plumbing and Fire Protection system design experience  • Medical gas piping design experience is preferred  • Experience with sustainable design and certification or high performance buildings  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills  Additional Information • Sponsorship is not available for this opportunity Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
