Responsibilities • Participates as a team member to perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and assist in the identification and implementation of corrective actions or technologies. , • Consider cost impact for recommended action plans for correcting downtime issues on installed equipment. , • Ensure continuous production is uninterrupted by equipment failures. , • Reports on Key Performance Indices. , • Analyze current CMMS data for equipment health indicators and prepare reports. , • Perform onsite evaluation of existing processes and equipment and make recommendations for improvement. , • Perform other duties as required. Responsibilities • Provides technical advice and guidance for all phases of assigned Mechanical Engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. , • Participates as a team member to review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects. , • Contributes to Mechanical Engineering design plans and requirements. , • Serves as Project Manager or Technical Advisor, on small-to-medium site Engineering projects, which may include the development of new or modification to existing systems and processes. , • Responsibilities include project development, budgeting, appropriation request (AR) preparation, contract management, electrical engineering, purchasing, construction, cost controls, quality controls, implementation, and start up. , • Develops Mechanical Engineering projects utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and protection of the environment. , • Participates with Operations and Maintenance departments and other Engineering staff in problem solving efforts to improve safety, efficiencies, cost controls and protection of the environment. , • Provides technical and Mechanical Engineering support to assigned groups/departments at site. , • Assists Operations and Maintenance departments with the implementation of new technology. , • Coordinates project activities with Operations and Maintenance departments to facilitate project completion. , • Ensures appropriate documentation for assigned projects are prepared and reviews documentation for accuracy. , • Responsible for ensuring successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budget time and cost constraints. , • Performs other duties as required. Field Engineer - Mechanical/Structural

POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Engineer I role will oversee and execute the project controls and management of a single discipline. The main functions of the Field Engineer I will include (but not limited to) responsibility for a specific area of the project such as direct support to a Craft Superintendent, quantity collection, scheduling, contract administration, project planning and scheduling, procurement, and project reporting. The role requires interfacing with all areas affected by the project including the client(s), engineering/design, subcontractors, distributors, vendors, and the ongoing strategic communication with project management regarding the status of the project. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Supports a crew of up to 30 people for short periods if needed • Learn and implement financial principles to quantify costs and benefits of projects, and to track against budgets • Represent MIC in a professional manner in all client interaction activities • Assist in providing the client with contract required reports (weekly, monthly, schedule) • Understand and follow MIC’s Corporate Safety Plan and site-specific safety plan • Assist in distribution and interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision • Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work • Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages • Provide support to ensure the site quality plan is communicated and all inspections and quality documentation is being completed on time and assembled for final turn over • Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets • Compile and distribute weekly the Average Labor Rate to the front-line supervision • Assist in the preparation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) • Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training • Order, schedule material deliveries and develop procurement status report • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite • Supervise field operations • Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents • Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations • Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use • Assist in preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, prepare material buyout take offs from issued for construction drawings • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations • Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), submittal, transmittal, memorandums, and other correspondence • Assis in the development and distribution of productivity tracking including Average labor rate, indirect scheduling, equipment schedule and log, risk and opportunity log, etc. • Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager • Support the MIC planning process through the master schedule, 6-week, 3-week, 1-week, and manpower curves Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Undergraduate degree in mechanical or structural engineering, construction management, or related work experience of 1-3 years in EPC or Industrial Construction KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations. • When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors. • Set a personal example of safe behavior. • Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives • Willing to travel extensively and relocate to the next project location for an extended period (typically 6-12 months) • Other may duties may be assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. • May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; HOURS: This position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to projects requirements. TRAVEL: Travel required up to 90%.
