Roles and Responsibilities DHE is looking for an entry level full-time mechanical engineer to work as part of an integrated, multi-disciplined design team in our Phoenix, AZ office. Responsibilities will consist of mechanical system design and commissioning, including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, fire protection, and temperature controls. The best person for the job will be able to succeed in a casual work environment with a client-focused, yet highly professional culture. Curiosity is a must. Qualifications • 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Architectural with Mechanical emphasis) • Limited experience in Mechanical Engineering is expected, but shall be capable of obtaining professional engineering licensure • Fluent in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) software • Experience with Revit software and LEED and/or commissioning credentials a plus Salary/Benefits • Salary shall be commensurate with experience • 100% company paid medical and dental plans for employees and spouse / dependents • Company-contributed Health Savings Plan • Company-matched 401K retirement plan • 40 hour work week and minimum 80 hours paid time off in first year

In this role you will work as part of a team supporting technical analyses of transportation accidents, mechanical failure evaluations, and assessments of vehicle safety systems including restraints and Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). Field activities include documenting the accident site and vehicles through a variety of techniques including photogrammetry, 3D scanning, and drone technology, and the preservation of collision data from vehicle electronic modules. The candidate should be hands-on with the ability to support fieldwork and testing, have excellent communication skills, and be motivated to advance professionally and ultimately develop and grow their consulting practice within Exponent. You will be responsible for • Technical analysis of transportation accidents involving heavy trucks and passenger vehicles • Fieldwork including inspections of accident site and vehicles • Field and laboratory evaluations including full-scale vehicle and component testing • Preparing written technical reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences You will have the following skills and qualifications • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field • P.E. license or the willingness to obtain a P.E. license • Advanced knowledge of dynamics and mechanical design Experience in vehicle dynamics and/or crashworthiness preferred • Interest in automotive systems such as vehicle communication networks, chassis systems, or Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) • Attention to detail and dedication to quality and accuracy • Experience with CAD software, and analytical and simulation tools desired • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Clear written communication and technical writing skills • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to synthesize and present technical information Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].
