Position Summary McCarthy’s self-perform mechanical team is seeking a motivated Operations Director to join our team. The Operations Director serves as a key member of our mechanical leadership team and will manage all construction efforts from pursuit to construction on assigned project. This includes managing client relations, coordinates preconstruction efforts, oversees planning and construction efforts. This role is located onsite in McCarthy’s Chandler office. Key Responsibilities PRECONSTRUCTION PHASE: • Lead business development effort. Monitor schedule performance. • Monitor labor cost for problem areas or waste and implement prompt corrective action as required. Review methods of approach for opportunities to reduce labor risk. • Monitor the job cost report to ensure all required maintenance is performed and costs are reflected accurately. • Manage monthly/quarterly/year end profit projections with the Project Manager. Review projections with VP Ops and Business Unit Leaders. Maintain a thorough understanding of internal/external contingency amounts and use authorizations • Ensure quality program is being implemented. • Be available to the project staff to help with issue resolution. • Champion jobsite safety effort, motivating the onsite team in the implementation of McCarthy Safety Guidelines. Perform Monthly Project Director Safety Inspection. • Recommend self-improvement programs that may assist employees in their professional and personal development. OVERALL: • Assist the Marketing Department in the preparation of presentations and interviews; participate in interviews as necessary. • Foster relationships with both internal and external clients. • Identify potential hiring candidates and participate in interviews of new hire candidates, as requested.
