Discover Impactful Work: Our company seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician responsible for supporting packaging operations, facilities, and site support teams by developing, designing, and fabricating tools and equipment parts. This role requires the ability to work within a machine shop environment and operate standard machinery, perform basic mechanical assignments, diagnoses and problem solving. Operate machining equipment such as a CNC machine, lathe, saws, and grinders, as well as basic welding. A day in the Life: • Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility. • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision. • Follow all Safety Policies and conduct work in a safe and efficient manner • Support Engineering Department as related to Manufacturing • Machine Repair • Fabricate Like for Like components to replace damaged or worn components. • Install components • Documents all fabrication with engineering drawings • Production Support • Assist maintenance technicians with machine debugging and diagnoses • Programming of computer numerically controlled production equipment. This programming will include items such as form, fill & seal tooling, sealing boards, filling templates, loading rings, etc. • Set up, operate, and maintain our CNC vertical milling machine, CNC router as well as other machine shop equipment and hand tools required to manufacture components. • Perform in-process inspection and documentation of manufactured components. • Design new machinery / tooling and/or modify existing machinery / tooling • Assist in trouble shooting equipment or tooling problems • Design machinery/tooling with engineering software, as well as fabricating the machinery/tooling • Engineering Project Support • Designs the improvements using Engineering software (AutoCAD SolidWorks, Mastercam). • Collaborate with EHS to ensure design meets all EHS requirements. • Orders all components/materials required for fabrication. • Fabricates the components with milling machine, lathe, CNC mill once changes are approved. • Coordinates with vendors for outside fabrication • Assists with equipment onboarding and installation • Reviews project instructions and blueprints to develop procedures, objectives, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as equipment or process redesign, substitution of materials or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies. • Implement, maintain, and properly use all drawings and documents related to components that are to be fabricated. • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for CNC operations • Other Thermo Fisher Site Support • Provide miscellaneous support through fabrication to other sites • Follow required Good Documentation Practices and Change Control prior to implementation • Keep inventory of all raw materials used in the manufacture of such components and takes required actions to preserve the inventory at a suitable level. • Work with various equipment vendors • Provide developmental and technical training • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs, such as: • Provide research, analysis and justification of new technologies and equipment and for the approval of requisitions. STAFF ENGINEER: MECHANICAL & HVAC

POSITION SUMMARY The Allentown office of Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to prepare HVAC and mechanical design packages for life science manufacturing facilities and other operations requiring clean manufacturing space. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Working alongside our team of engineers & designers in a multi-discipline EPC environment, the Mechanical Engineer will perform field investigations, interface with clients & vendors, size & select equipment, and guide designers to prepare construction drawings. REQUIRED CAPABILITIES The successful candidate should possess: • 5+ years of applicable experience in design of clean space HVAC systems including air side systems, humidification/dehumidification systems, dust collection, industrial ventilation, equipment selection and scheduling, and hydronic systems. • Experience with the development of air balance, HVAC load calculations, static pressure calculations, pump head calculations, and HVAC Control Diagrams/Sequences of Operations. • Knowledge of equipment vendors, application of materials of HVAC construction, load estimating software (HAP), assembling design packages, client interface and field investigation is a plus. • Understanding of cGMP regulatory requirements for regulated industries and prior design experience in clean manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food & beverage is preferred. • Strong computer literacy, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to design using the Revit BIM platform is preferred. • The ability to develop client relationships. • Provide project management support to leadership team by helping to manage/resolve issues, risks, and re-planning efforts. • Extremely detail oriented and thorough, with strong follow-up skills. • Proficiency with software applications, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point. WORKING CONDITIONS • In general, performance of the job has the Mechanical Engineer operating from an office location vs a project location and they will oversee one or more projects at one time. • The Mechanical Engineer will be subject to jobsite conditions and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions. • This role may require occasional overnight travel to client locations based on project requirements. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • This role requires a Bachelor’s of Science or above in Mechanical Engineering and active PE registration (PA preferred). This is an office-based position. Occasional overnight travel to client locations may be required. • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the EPC consulting environment is preferred.
