Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Solutions - CMTA

CMTA, a Legence company, is looking for an experienced Engineer to help expand our Mississippi market. The Energy Solutions division of CMTA is the fastest growing division of our large and growing company. The successful candidate is typically a self-motivated individual that thrives on helping clients and has the technical background to be involved and lead all phases of our work. Although this position is for the performance contracting division of our company, we have found that engineers with strong backgrounds in HVAC design and commissioning can easily make the transition to become a valuable team member within our Energy Solutions group. The Senior Engineer leads all aspects of performance contracts for our clients, from conception to completion, and serves as the primary point of contact throughout all phases. In addition to technical leadership, this role plays a key part in identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and contributing to CMTA’s business growth. Below are some of the duties included: • Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities where CMTA’s solutions can provide long-term value. • Articulate how and why CMTA is unique in our approach to performance contracting, reinforcing our value proposition in both technical and financial terms. • Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships. • Participate in business development efforts including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development. • Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations. • Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications. • Direct the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes. • Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract. • Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period. • Direct the commissioning process to validate performance. • Support the client through the warranty phase as needed. • Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop the first-year M&V report. • Demonstrate knowledge of Mississippi K-12 design-build procurement processes, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements. Required Experience: • Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm. • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. Mechanical / Electrical Superintendent

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical/Electrical Superintendent to oversee a Multi Family construction project in Oxford MS from inception to completion. Company truck will be provided. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for quality control, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties • Supervise daily operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and OSHA standards. • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate execution of project plans. • Implement quality control measures throughout the construction process to maintain high standards. • Coordinate project scheduling, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. • Manage budgets effectively, tracking expenses and ensuring cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. • Utilize ProCore software for project management and documentation purposes. • Oversee subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise. • Train and supervise team members, fostering a collaborative work environment. Qualifications • Proven experience as a Superintendent or similar role in construction management. • Strong knowledge of quality control processes and techniques. • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation. • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices in construction environments. • Experience with budgeting and financial management related to construction projects. • Ability to use an ohmmeter for electrical work as needed on-site (preferred). • Excellent supervisory skills with a focus on team development. • Strong project scheduling abilities, ensuring efficient workflow on-site. • Experience with ProCore or similar project management software is highly desirable. These positions are part of a strategic initiative to grow research capacity in the department and expand interdisciplinary innovation at the interface of mechanical engineering, intelligent systems, and human-centered technologies.
