Basic Job Functions: The Millwright will support our Maintenance and Production Teams via Mechanical and some Electrical troubleshooting in a given area of our mill. This includes interpretation of drawings and manuals for the installation, repair, and maintenance of complex equipment systems and machinery such as pumps, valves, cylinders, compressors, conveyors, overhead cranes, etc. The Millwright will use various pieces of equipment, such as forklifts, man lifts, mobile crane, etc. in order to safely operate during routine mechanical operations and/or expectations. The Millwright will also be expected to demonstrate Safety-Minded support of our entire Maintenance Team while seeking to provide World-Class Reliability for our Customers. This position will be expected to work shift rotation to include nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Requirements: Experience using Engineering and Maintenance Principles 1-year previous Steel Mill Mechanical Maintenance Experience Experience interpreting drawings and manuals for complex equipment and machinery Detailed Selection Criteria: Initiative Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.
