Job Summary: Frazier Industrial Company is the leading manufacturer of racking systems, with its headquarters located in Long Valley, NJ. The Manufacturing Engineer position is full-time and based at our facility in Dyersburg, TN. This person will use Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering techniques to improve production efficiencies and reduce costs. Develops, evaluates, and improves new or improved processes and manufacturing methods using continuous improvement techniques to improve the quality of our products and processes. Key Responsibilities: · Evaluate and identify process improvement efforts to optimize quality and cost. · Develop / maintain Standard Work Instruction for all production processes · Investigate and determine root cause(s) for internal and external complaints and/or quality rejections. (8D Problem Solving). · Lead and/or assist with various related engineering functions such as mechanical design of fixtures, standardization of processes, cost reduction, and quality control. · Lead and/or support the selection and implementation of automation equipment and processes to increase output and reduce cost. · Provide technical support for manufacturing plants in fabrication techniques, including cutting, punching, welding, and painting. · Analyze reports and collect data to determine and recommend changes in methods, tooling, and/or equipment to more fully utilize manpower to increase productivity, quality, or reduce cost. · Work closely with Plant Supervision at all levels to propose and determine feasibility of improvement projects and provide data or information for accurate decisions. · Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, designs alternate layout of equipment & workspace for efficiency. · Confers with vendors to determine equipment specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment to increase capability of production. Qualifications: · BSME or related bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. · Minimum of three years’ experience as a manufacturing or process engineer – four or more years preferred. · Hands-on experience and knowledge of metal cutting and forming and welding processes (robotic a plus) · Familiar with Lean Manufacturing methods and concepts, Six Sigma methodology, Green / Black belt certifications / training · Experience in machine design and machine control systems. · Must be able to write control logic programs for PLC’s and CNC controls. · Knowledge of equipment controls/PLC required, Robotics/automation experience desired. · Must be able to work with minimal direct guidance or direction from others. To review and approve daily lab testing of produced material to ensure that it meets internal and external specifications. Responsibilities: • Develop, document, implement and validate robust corrective actions with cross-functional teams that eliminate the causes of product and process nonconformities, especially customer complaints. • Maintenance of existing ISO: 9001:2015 quality system with the focus on the HEXPOL's quality objectives. • Manage the nonconforming material process from identification through disposition. • Drive continual quality improvement focused on improved customer satisfaction, exceeding quality objectives and reducing quality costs using systematic quality and/or six sigma tools within the framework of HEXPOL's strategic initiatives. • Analyze process and test data to determine and improve process capability. • Create and develop all related documentation (warrant, MSAs, FMEA, control plans) or PPAP submission. • Represent HEXPOL during audits of the quality system by customers or third-party certification/registration agencies. • Perform internal and external audits as required to ensure compliance with ISO9001, HEXPOL and customer requirements. • Oversee the Layered Process Audit (LPA) program. • Complete GEMBA walks, for audits, identify and address issues on the manufacturing floor. • Support Purchasing in the development of our supply base and ensure all specifications are met Support any quality test laboratory activities including the reduction of variation in measurement systems. • Manage the location personnel in training and enforcement of quality procedures, inspection methods, quality control and other quality assurance methods. • Direct the supervision of Lab Technicians and Quality team personnel. • Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related fields degrees.
