Mechanical Design Engineer Grenada, MS(Day One Onsite) Job Summary: Senior engineer will be responsible for designing HVAC system with new refrigerant and qualifying the same according to applicable regulations for US market. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with offshore engineering teams to ensure seamless communication and project execution. Redesign air conditioning units for new refrigerant for US market. Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including thermal and structural simulations, to validate design changes. Lead NPI/NPD reviews and secure all necessary approvals on the project Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred (Thermal/HVAC). Preference will be given to candidates with ASHRAE certification Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the HVAC industry. Proven experience in coordinating with offshore teams and managing complex engineering projects. Strong knowledge of US standards and regulations for HVAC systems. Position Description The Product Engineer reports to the Engineering Supervisor for the Data Center vertical. She/he works within the Engineering Department to design, develop, and document Data Center Cooling designs within the scope of products manufactured by the Data Center team. This position will be responsible for the development and transfer of technology including but not limited to documentation of products that span across Climate Solution Regions (Americas, EMEA, and Asia). Key Responsibilities • Design & Develop new Data Center Cooling products or modify existing to meet customer requirements and create supporting documentation based on project scope, market needs and regulatory requirements for the Data Center Vertical. • Evaluates and designs electromechanical products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials. • Perform finite element modeling and structural simulation for the products. Interpret FEA results and recommend design changes/directions to meet product performance requirements. • Interface with other Modine regions, CS manufacturing locations, and/or customers to assure a smooth transition from one region to another with global product development. • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components. • Support customer applications with heat transfer, energy and/or Data Center Cooling system designs. Review of approval and manufacturing drawing packages. • Support other engineers and designers with product development projects related to design and documentation as needed. • Travel to other regions (Leeds, UK) and customer sites if needed (10-15%). Required Education & Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required. • 1-3+ years of experience in a related engineering field. • A strong mechanical aptitude and good mechanical background. • Prior experience with heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or other HVAC industry experience. • Prior experience with sheet metal design would be highly beneficial. • Working knowledge of Mathcad and 3D CAD systems, along with FEA & CFD software. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. • Strong analysis, problem solving, and communication skills.
