Mechanical Team Member - Corinth, MS

Responsibilities: • Perform railcar inspections to identify defects. • Perform railcar repairs per AAR standards. • Track and document repairs as required. • Ensure that vehicles and shops kept clean & safe. • Ensure that the employees are working in a safe manner. • Performs other duties as assigned by management. Job Requirements: • Railcar Mechanical experience preferred. • Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching experience a plus. • General knowledge of hydraulic and power tools. • Must have good communication and people skills with demonstrated ability to develop team work and work with all levels of personnel in achieving our goals. Physical Requirements: • Able to perform physical strenuous work. • Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch. • Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80 lbs. • Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner. • Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary. Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in outside environments, in and around moving locomotives, railcars, vehicles, and equipment. Frequent exposure to weather elements. The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides technical leadership for the KCNA Supply Chain with a focus on delivering a step-change in asset performance while driving costs down to world class benchmarks. This position provides technical troubleshooting and support, collaborating with mill staff and cross-functional team members in the design, development, and optimization of processes in support of overall OEE delivery, cost reduction, and sustainability compliance. Organizational Relationships: • Reports to the Engineering Technical Strategist and Team Leader in the KCNA Towel & Wiper Supply Chain Optimization Team • Interacts frequently with Mill Operating Teams, Staff Manufacturing, Research & Development (R&D), Planning, Distribution, and Procurement. In this role, you will: • Flow to work as part of the Supply Chain Team. Expected to be able to support converting and manufacturing activities across all KCNA. In the event of escalation, assist AO teams to return asset to target results. • Drive the development and execution of the OEE plans for assets. Coordinate and lead targeted onsite action plans. Provide hands-on assistance to onsite teams.
