Manufacturing Engineer

Scope/Supervision and Interaction: This job has no supervisory responsibility; however, this position mentors entry-level Manufacturing Engineers and new employees. Must have ability to deal with people at a cross-functional level. Position requires ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to inquiries from employees, customers, and suppliers. Responsibilities: • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production problems through identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes. These processes include conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from the operators/production technicians. • Refine and enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and key Lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production. • Recommend product changes/improvements to Product Engineers. • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. • Coordinate input that may cross multiple teams or areas; make recommendations and implement changes. • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. • Determine root cause of failure using statistical methods (e.g., design of experiment, SPC) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods. • Evaluate capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. • Design and prepare concept drawings of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment. • Manage the overall implementations of capital equipment projects. • Develop tooling and fixtures for new products and processes and work with tooling vendors to supply such designs. • Identify and implement solutions for issues relating to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reductions. • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures. • Prepare reports summarizing analyzed process information and trends. • Share specialized knowledge with others. • Represent Company on specific projects, lead and participate on project teams. • Actively participate and support the plant’s safety program. Report any injury or near miss immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager. Report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Group Lead, Value Stream Manager or EHS Manager. • Actively participate in the High-Performance Team designated for your area. The HPTs are meant to improve the work experience by allowing the employees an opportunity to offer suggestions for improvement. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering or Technology field and 5-7 years of related experience required. • Good math skills and familiarity with personal computer and CAD software required. • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes preferred. • Prefer Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, FMEAs, and quality systems experience. • This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements. • In accordance with Parker’s policies and applicable state laws, Parker provides for a drug-free workplace. Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities: • Mechanical: Responsible for installing special functional and structural parts in devices. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instrumentation. Maintains and repairs air compressors, air dryers, gas systems, alarm system, water and vacuum systems, etc. Follows Preventive Maintenance Instructions and ensures that the records for such are properly documented. • Electrical: Perform electrical troubleshooting, read electrical diagrams and symbols. Able to read and write advanced electrical schematics. Must be able to read P& ID drawings, use handheld voltage meter, oscilloscopes, ammeters, etc. • Welding: Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding. Tack-welds pieces together. Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics and sketches using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications. • Fabrication: Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Conduct periodic inspections to determine required maintenance workflow. Design/Build complex parts as needed for plant using all mill wright tools (lathe, index mill, welding, press, bender, etc.). • Heating/Cooling: Advanced air conditioning and heating circuits, trouble shooting and repair chillers and air dryers. • Projects: Must be well rounded maintenance person and must have knowledge and experience in areas of troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatics and electrical motion control components. Additional Duties: • Actively participate and support the plant’s safety program. Report any injury or near miss immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager. Report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Group Lead, Value Stream Manager or EHS Manager. • Actively participate in the High-Performance Team designated for your area. The HPTs are meant to improve the work experience by allowing the employees an opportunity to offer suggestions for improvement. • Record accurate and timely data, including order completions and quantity on daily labor reports, reclaim tickets, for reject parts and daily hours worked. • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Keep all walkways and aisles free of any debris or clutter. Maintain 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards. Sweep floor and finishing area as needed. • Daily attendance is a requirement of the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • A High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
