Job Description: Agriculture Equipment Mechanic PURPOSE: This position is responsible for repairing tractors and implements located at the Battleboro warehouse and other warehouses, for repairing quality issues caused by our assembly process or during production at LS Mtron. This person will also assist with field and endurance testing of new products. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Repairs returned units from a dealer or an end use customers located at Battleboro warehouse. 2. Repairs disabled products which are missing parts located at Battleboro warehouse. 3. Provide support to assembly department at all warehouses as needed to resolve quality issues. 4. Provide assistance to Service Managers when needed. 5. Will assist Business Managers in resolving quality or repair issues with customer’s tractors.. 6. Will assist Service Managers during service training. 7. Help resolve technical or quality problems discovered during the PDI process at Battleboro warehouse. 8. Repair quality problems originating at LS Mtron at all warehouses as needed. Update LS Mtron on issues found and corrective action taken. 9. Preform field and endurance testing for new products as needed. 10. Provide reports to manager when technical or quality are discovered and after they have been resolved. 11. Maintain an accurate inventory of all returned and disabled units at the Battleboro warehouse and provide a weekly report to manager. REQUIREMENTS: 1. This position requires a high School diploma or GED. Additional technical or community college training is preferred. 2. Three years’ experience repairing agricultural equipment with an emphasis on tractors or heavy equipment. 3. Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in agricultural equipment. Experience using Tier 4 diagnostic tools to identify and repair equipment 4. Intermediate computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Proficient in using Excel, email and maintenance/parts applications 5. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts machinery as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working condition • Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machine • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as needed • Prepare reports documenting work performed. • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as needed • Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines. • Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required • Make necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required • Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • None.
