Position Description: Provide support to all the company’s engineering projects and perform a specialized function within the engineering department. Provide expertise in a specific company core competency. Represent the company at industry briefings, meetings, and reviews. Individuals will occasionally attend industry conferences and publish work performed under various contracts for various customers. Supervise engineering teams. Write and review technical documents including reports, test plans, and proposals. Collaborate with program management to define project scope and manage the technical execution of the scope. May have direct management responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Perform mentoring and review for mechanical designs of rocket propulsion systems • Review rocket motor sizing and performance assessments • Review design trade studies, risk assessments, and Monte Carlo simulations • Participate in design reviews and peer reviews and provide direction for additional efforts • Review engineering drawings, and tolerance analyses • Supervise hardware assembly and testing activities • Perform project management functions, schedules, budgets, task assignments, program reviews • Supervise engineers in their work to assure engineering requirements are met • Interact with customers on technical matters and prepare and present technical material • Provide technical support to developing business relationships and cultivate new business opportunities • Other related job duties, as assigned Experience: Required: 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience is required; prefer rocket motor design and testing. Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university or equivalent years of experience. Preferred: Master’s degree required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university or equivalent years of experience. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in mechanical engineering • California Mechanical Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 12 months • A minimum of 4 years' experience in mechanical and plumbing system design for federal, commercial, and/or institutional facilities • Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace3D, or similar software • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm • Water/Wastewater, Technology, Federal facilities experience is a plus • Project Management experience is a plus • This role is intended to physically located in Folsom, CA or Walnut Creek, CA • Preference given to local candidates.
