Reporting to the Director of Engineering/Assistant Director of Engineering. The Overnight Engineer's main responsibility is the maintenance and operations of the buildings central systems. (HVAC, AHU’S, Pumps, Motors, Hot water heaters, Chillers) Responsibilities • Daily rounds inspecting all plant equipment; maintaining up-to-date records on efficiency of equipment. Malfunctions or repairs needs to be noted and reported to the management team. • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and guest rooms as scheduled. • Accurate record log keeping on (meters, kitchen walk-in-boxes, ice machines, water fountains and fan coil unit filter changes). • Appropriate response and prioritization of 15 minutes or less to all guest calls, other departments and team members requiring maintenance repairs from the Engineering department. • Ensure proper storage of all hazardous chemicals adhering to OSHA Standards. • Ensure the proper care and use of all Engineering equipment including all safety related procedures used when operating this equipment. This includes MSDS and loc-out/tag-out procedures. • Ensure proper training of Fire and Life Safety Systems and emergency Shut-Off Valves in the hotel. • Perform any additional duties as assigned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: • Completion of trade school or formal apprenticeship programs in Engineering or related fields. • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with mechanical equipment such as that found in commercial buildings. • Must be familiar with all safety practices related to working around mechanical equipment and its use. • Must have basic knowledge of Plumbing, electrical and HVAC. • Must be able to work with minimum supervision on assigned tasks.
