Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Job responsibilities to include Mechanical Maintenance of all manufacturing equipment from troubleshooting, repair, and maintaining through a standardized Work Order/PM system to achieve optimum performance and production. Maintenance & Engineering Manager

Purpose: The purpose of the Maintenance and Engineering Manger position is to represent the needs of the maintenance personnel and equipment and to act as a liaison between manufacturing, scheduling, engineering and finance. The goal is to work with the production teams to reduce equipment downtime, decrease running costs of equipment in order to increase output, lower cost, increase customer satisfaction and improve the process of the facility equipment and utilities that are utilized in the Float Glassmaking Operation. Essential Functions: • Adhere to and enforce all safety requirements through the 10 Key Safety Leadership Behaviors and compliance to all safety rules, policies, procedures and training. • Coordinate contractor activities to ensure safety and costs are controlled and deadlines met while adhering to NSG standards • Ensure all EHS standards relating to equipment are met – both existing and new equipment • Manage the technical support services required to maintain or upgrade the physical plant, production equipment, engineering processes, and methods to facilitate production. • Oversee the technical health of the entire facility as it relates to Plant Engineering and Maintenance by working side by side with other department managers. • Responsible for coordinating the capital planning and implementation of capital projects, from feasibility studies through design and implementation. These projects are evaluated by analyzing the available technology and equipment, determining the investment cost and need for the equipment. The incumbent must stay abreast of the newest developments in the state of the art technologies. • Determines equipment and facility needs through working with other managers and Group Engineering technical staff. Work with outside contractors utilizing a competitive bidding process to secure equipment and/or services for the project. Projects are monitored from inception to conclusion. Work closely with Group Engineering or outside engineering services to direct or assist with larger projects. • Must possess the ability to supervise skilled workers and have wide experience in plant operations. Should have excellent troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge of production equipment, mechanical and electrical equipment, computer operations, and the ability to motivate maintenance personal under pressure. • Should be able to coordinate several projects simultaneously and be able to generate ideas that can lead to the reduction of cost and improvement of work processes. • This position requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Selects, develops, trains, motivates and appraises personnel to provide for a competent workforce. • Responsible for maintaining an effective Quality system that is current, used, understood and maintained in the facility according to our Quality Policy to ensure customer satisfaction • Accountable to ensure that department operates in a manner consistent with the Pilkington Environmental Policy. Qualifications Required: • Bachelor’s degree or better in Engineering or related field • 8 + years of experience in the Engineering and Maintenance field • 3 to 5 years’ experience supervising hourly, salary and contractor personnel • Solid interpersonal, coaching and communication skills • Ability to facilitate groups in an employee involvement environment • Basic computer skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint • Knowledge of glass manufacturing (coating experience a plus) • Excellent troubleshooting ability and technical knowledge of production mechanical, electrical and computer equipment • Ability to motivate maintenance personnel under pressure. • Coordinate several projects simultaneously Qualifications Desired: • SAP Experience • Knowledge of glass manufacturing • Exposure to Six Sigma (Green Belt) • Advanced Problem-Solving Skills (Six Sigma) Other Requirements: • Must be able to travel (Limited 1-2 trips per year) Salary Range: $127,353 - $174,660 _____________________________________________________________________________ We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistance.
