BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Job responsibilities to include Mechanical Maintenance of all manufacturing equipment from troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance through a standardized Work Order/PM system to achieve optimum performance and production. Essential Functions: • Support all plant safety initiatives • Instigate studies and actions to resolve technical problems, reduce waste and improve team performance throughout the cold end • Monitor, together with team members, process performance in order to identify areas for improvement and coordinate an/or lead corrective actions as necessary. • Assist with mechanical improvements through TPM, P.M., and Capital Expenditure Projects. • Maintain/update mechanical and site drawings • Assist in the commissioning new plant equipment and other systems to ensure that the introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and within minimum disruption. • Lead studies and actions to improve the efficiency of the area and maintain assets. • Promote process standards that correspond to the plant’s objectives, costs and supply in order to meet the needs of the customer. • Initiating and following up on plant cost savings ideas • Be the primary site contact for the design, install and implementation of new equipment. • Lead site activities with regards to new equipment during all phases of projects. • Interface effectively with contractors to ensure implementation success. • Build the timeline and scope of projects and develop needs to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. • Resolve issues that arise from daily project problems for completion. • Maintain progress reports of all projects and report to Manager. • Identify future projects to ensure Plant sustainability and promote continuous improvement. • Schedule preventive maintenance and training procedures for new equipment and review existing documents. • Occasional travel may be required, less than twice per year. • Support the operation process, understanding the process is a 24/7 operation, becoming a member on rotation of our on-call team. • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles. • Other duties as assigned by manager.
