Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description The Mechanical Designer position involves modeling and drawing generation of a diverse range of mechanical hardware and components intended for elevator systems. The candidate will be part of the Design Services Group, situated in Florence, South Carolina, which serves as the hub for North American System Elevator Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain operations. Responsibilities • Provide design support to both internal and external customers. • Modify and develop new component solutions to enhance product robustness. • Support and resolve engineering issues. • Develop component and system level models and drawings. • Support cost reduction efforts. • Maintain product integrity and evaluate design opportunities. • Interface with the field support team while working to meet cost and schedule commitments. • Engage in sheet metal design, design for installation, implementation, and testing of elevator components. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Mechanical Engineer / Product Engineer (PLM)

Summary: • Strategise, plan, and execute change implementation driven by cost, quality, and manufacturability aspects. • Planned and executed a change management project having scope of $00K+ potential cost savings. • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to achieve cost savings, improve quality, and streamline sourcing strategies. • Supported RFQs by addressing supplier queries and acted as a liaison between engineering, procurement, and quality teams. • Proactively identified and resolved design and quality issues in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams. Job Description: • Candidates will be responsible for managing mechanical and Electro-mechanical components through all aspects of the component development process. • Design new components and integrate them into existing systems by utilizing the company’s Change Process to modify documentation and drawings. • Responsible for managing design changes to existing systems with emphasis on mistake correction, cost savings, and code compliance. • Resolve design, manufacturing, testing and quality issues; validate and release pre-series components and products to production. • Proposed design changes that left my desk were understood and accepted by representatives of other company departments to ensure the changes could be properly implemented. • Support manufacturing, testing and troubleshooting of Mechanical components. • Support manufacturing lines through Standard Deviation Process for alternative solution • Develop test plans, transfer teststands and technologies to outsourcing suppliers. • Evaluate and support second sourcing of alternate components requested by Supply Chain. • Upgrade processes and equipment for EH&S, cycle time and quality continuous improvement. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or any other engineering field. • Electro-Mechanical Knowledge • Mechanical design experience is needed. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Root Cause Analysis and Interim Action Containment knowledge. • Proficient interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team, with experienced abilities in directing and leading meetings. • Ability to manage multiple suppliers concerns simultaneously. Mechanical Engineer

We have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to join our world-class team. The person we are looking for is passionate about safety, self-motivated, and driven to succeed in everything that they do. We are specifically looking for someone with an innate curiosity to work with our customers and help them to solve issues, design their unique solutions, and maintain optimal compliance and throughput. These designs can and will include utilizing pneumatics, hydraulics, and any other such system components necessary to provide solutions for our clients needs. We need someone with 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on design, but we will consider less depending on co-ops etc. You are expected to be familiar with equipment and layout drawings; have hands-on work ethic and capability; and, knowledge of industry standards and requirements including local, state, and Federal laws and Code/Guidelines.
