Mechanic Assistant

Job Purpose Assist with performing routine maintenance/repairs and coordinating extraordinary maintenance/repairs on all FCCBH fleet vehicles Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent • Must possess a valid driver’s license • Two years related experience preferred • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills • Computer skills required, primarily Microsoft office applications • Must be able to work flexible hours • Must have basic hand tools • Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders Core Job Duties • Assist in the following duties as appropriate. • Schedule and perform vehicle maintenance requirements in a timely manner. • Report all abnormal vehicle conditions to the Fleet Manager. • Ensure the garage is maintained for safety and to a high housekeeping standard. • Maintain spare parts inventory to ensure efficient garage operation. • Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records.  Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models. • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care. • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
