The Job: In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will perform the duties associated with engineering projects that equip or improve any areas related to manufacturing products at our facility, areas such as stamping, welding, paint, and assembly. The project engineer not only involves work of conventional engineering practice but also provides engineering support in a variety of functions to ensure that our facility performs efficiently and safely while meeting production requirements. The successful candidate must be capable of managing multiple small-scale projects and/or working with the CI Team on other projects. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you’ll be part of our Lawn and Garden team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to: • Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing process improvements. • Identify, develop, and implement cost savings projects using lean principles. • Perform fixed asset requests (FAR’s) for capital projects with cash flow and associated documentation for justification. • Design production-related fixtures & machinery. • Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize operator utilization and product flow. • Track project savings using Protrak management software. • Carry out the specifying, designing, quoting, purchasing, scheduling, and implementation of capital projects and/or equipment. • Assist in product launches for manufacturing new products. • Provide engineering support to all departments to eliminate waste in processes.
