About the position Our Systems Control location in Iron Mountain, MI is looking for an Associate Design Engineer who wants to grow with us! As an Associate Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of innovative and customized product solutions. This position requires a high degree of analytical thinking, organizational skills, and a broad range of engineering skills. The successful applicant will have an aptitude for developing and executing creative and innovative ideas. Responsibilities • Work with Project Management and CAD Design to design products for established customers , • Perform design verification testing, documentation, and reporting , • Provide manufacturing support for specific customers and/or production areas , • Review customer technical specifications and ensure compliance of designs , • Review applicable building codes and ensure compliance of designs , • Help to implement design changes and communicate requirements to all impacted groups , • Design and program wall frames & trusses and verify structural integrity with Structural Engineer , • Perform drawing/BOM checks and communicate corrections to CAD Designers , • Work with the Product Development team to coordinate and deploy new processes and products Requirements • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology , • Exposure to manufacturing/design and fabrication experience would be helpful but not required , • Experience using 3-D modeling software (Creo preferred), 2D AutoCAD and MS Office Suite , • Experience using finite element analysis software is preferred , • Knowledgeable in Engineering Mechanics, Strengths of Materials, Welding, and other manufacturing processes , • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing , • Must be a team player, creative, and have strong hands on mechanical knowledge , • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills , • Proficient written and oral communication skills , • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time Nice-to-haves undefined Benefits undefined

Your role in our mission As a core member of our site-based engineering team, you will: • Maintain and optimise the MOVO storage system: Ensure the fully automated racking infrastructure is operating at peak performance through scheduled and condition-based maintenance. • Execute technical diagnostics and fault rectification: Quickly identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and PLC systems to minimise downtime and maximise throughput. • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM): Conduct scheduled inspections and maintenance in accordance with OEM guidelines and industry best practices to prevent future failures. • Ensure compliance and uphold safety standards: Operate within strict health and safety frameworks while supporting the site’s adherence to statutory, legal, and internal quality standards. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders: Liaise with site teams, contractors, and technology suppliers to ensure engineering excellence and timely completion of tasks. • Support departmental administration: Complete engineering documentation, update maintenance logs, manage stock control for spare parts, and support compliance reporting.
