Role Under the direction of the shop foreman, the skilled Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical repairs and general maintenance on buses, trucks, and automobiles. Essential Functions Reporting directly to the Shop Foreman, the Vehicle Mechanic performs the following duties: • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality on the job. • Work independently and in groups to perform repairs and maintenance on school buses, utility trucks, and automobiles. • Operate a service truck to provide road service for Board of Education vehicles. • Log into and out of work orders, update, review, and close work orders, using fleet maintenance software (Faster). • Drive a regular school bus route as a substitute driver when needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Vehicle Mechanic or Shop Foreman. Please Note: Selected candidate must satisfactorily pass the appropriate medical examination for the position. Required Qualifications • High School diploma or equivalent. • Three (3) years of experience as an automobile and/or truck repair mechanic. • Graduation from an automobile and/or truck repair vocational or trade school. Note: Two years of additional experience as an automobile and/or truck repair mechanic may be substituted for the required vocational or trade school training. • Certification as a school bus driver or receive certification within 3 months of employment date. • A clean driver's records with no more than two (2) points within the last 2 years. • Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. • Sufficient physical strength and stamina to lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and complete work requiring considerable physical exertion. • Regular and predictable attendance. Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with the FCPS policies, goals and programs. • ASE Technician certification at any level with preference given to ASE School Bus Technician. PURPOSE: As a Manufacturing Automation Engineer, you will identify, develop, and execute projects to automate varied manufacturing processes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Client Engagement and Requirements Gathering: • Collaborate closely with client plants to understand their automation needs and operational challenges. • Conduct thorough assessments of existing systems and processes to identify areas for automation; including identifying process combination, process changes, etc. • Project execution: • Complete justification documents, obtain buy in from client sites • Engage appropriate vendors through quoting and design processes • Manage vendor performance, coordinate design reviews, installation needs, system testing and commissioning, providing on-site support and troubleshooting during the initial startup phase • Manage projects to completion, leading/interacting with collaborative teams that might include Manufacturing, Materials, Quality, and other functions. • Provide operations with training, documentation, maintenance and operations procedures to successfully operate equipment • Continuous Improvement: • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in automation technologies. • Recommend and implement enhancements to existing automation systems to optimize performance and efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Production Technician will play a vital role in supplying framing materials to our art cell teams, ensuring that orders are fulfilled on time and to perfection.
