About the position Ergon Resinall Corp in Hattiesburg, MS is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician I to join our team. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician I will play a crucial role in supporting the repair and service of rotating and other mechanical-related equipment. The role requires a proactive approach to developing good working relationships with co-workers, customers, and associates. The technician will assist in various maintenance tasks, including the repair and maintenance of steam systems, installation and maintenance of instrument tubing, and troubleshooting mechanical-related problems. Additionally, the technician will be involved in the alignment of pumps and other equipment, documentation of service and repairs, and the operation of various tools and equipment. This position requires a commitment to preventive maintenance and continuous improvement in maintenance practices. The technician will also be available for call-outs as scheduled by the Maintenance Department and will work closely with more experienced technicians to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician I will be expected to complete CMMS work orders accurately and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions. Perform a variety of checks and inspections on customer-returned generators, engines, and electrical components. Assist in cycle counting, dock audits, FIFO activities, and provide customer feedback. Maintain a database of repairs, including part replacements, bills, and product photos. This role is based onsite in Hazlehurst, MS (warehouse location), not at our Hattiesburg facility Specific Responsibilities • Perform inspection of the product and capture photos of defective components. • Complete investigation and documentation for reliability test failures in order to determine failure mechanisms and root cause. • Order repair parts from multiple facilities when needed. • Assist other Quality and Production associates with product diagnostics and failure mode analysis. • Complete diagnoses, disposition, and documentation for the customer-returned product under the sales return system. • Work with team members to ensure material is correctly received in the inventory and warehouse. • Make product improvement recommendations based on comparison to other generator families and competitive product knowledge. • Provide support to Material and Quality associates in Hazlehurst and Hattiesburg facilities when necessary. • Drive continuous improvement related to sales return related defects. • Develop necessary timelines, schedules, and plans to support workflow and efficiency. • Perform other related duties as required. • Clean and maintain work areas, machines, and equipment as required. • Measure, understand, act on, and report quality and operations information. • Recommend and assist in process and design improvements. • Maintain knowledge of and follow all safety regulations. • Engage in learning activities to upgrade skill sets, both interpersonal and technical. • Perform all duties as assigned by supervision. • Participate as a member of the Quality team to accomplish goals. • Frequent contact with the customer service team. • Cooperate, collaborate, and effectively utilize cross-functional resources. • Interact with other teams to accomplish goals. • Provide operational information to upper management.
