Description: A Mechanical Technician , or Industrial Mechanic, is a professional who operates industrial machinery found in construction sites, factories, power plants, and other sectors. Their duties include installing equipment, repairing items, and transferring machinery to needed locations. Requirements: Primary Duties • Perform millwright-level work including setting screws and barrels on extruders. • Use precision measuring tools. • Align and level machinery. • Conduct intermediate welding and fabrication. • Diagnose mechanical issues. • Complete preventative maintenance without supervision. • Perform minor modifications to equipment. Qualifications • 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience. • Proven troubleshooting skills. • Ability to mentor Mechanical Technician 1 employee. Safety Follow established safety regulations to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, wearing proper PPE, and the use of safety equipment to prevent work related injuries or illness. Working Conditions Spends most of the day on their feet or walking through the plant. Works in a dusty environment, as well as in the heat and cold. Works at ground level with some work up to 50ft above the ground. Operates and works around heavy equipment.
