Mechanical Designer II

Job Purpose: Perform advanced and detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods and other engineering information. Essential Functions • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment and controls using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems. • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed. • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery, using computer-assisted equipment. • Positions instructions and comments onto drawings. • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems. • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials. • Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems and machines; Design scale or full-size blueprints. • Confer with customers to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to installation of systems. • Lay out, draw and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems. • Create and maintain models, drawings, BOMs and related engineering documents; maintain updated files and control obsolete files. • Assist in maintaining a file structure for all models and drawings. • Shall have complete and responsible charge for model fit, form, and function. • Shall demonstrate basic FEA (Finite Element Analysis) set up function. Qualifications • Must have an Associate’s or Technical degree in Solid Modeling with Symbology/Annotation. • 3 years’ experience or combination of experience. • Experience using CAD tools, solid modeling software and other engineering computer programs and AWS D1.1 Symbology Drafting Standards. • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials preferred. Physical and Mental Demands • Will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, bend or kneel; reach with hands and arms. • Use hands to handle or operate standard office equipment and measuring devices. • Near vision and ability to adjust focus; able to talk and hear; ability to visualize. • May spend long hours in intense concentration requiring attention to detail and accuracy. • There are a number of deadlines associated with this position which may cause significant stress. • May be required to climb and balance; work at heights. • Occasionally lift materials and supplies. Work Environment • Will spend majority of time in office setting. • May occasionally spend time in warehouse, assembly shop and welding shop. • Noise level is usually low to moderate but may be very loud. • May involve hazardous materials, fumes, moving parts/equipment, electrical shock risk, extreme heat (welding) and extreme cold (liquid nitrogen). • Severe hot weather is likely and severe cold weather is possible on occasions when working outside of office. Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose: Perform advanced engineering duties in planning and designing Techcrane products Essential Functions • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports. • Confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. • Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. • Design and develop innovative mechanical and industrial designs required for new products; execute modification for existing products. • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications and Techcrane's Quality Management System. • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and to make recommendations to production/service crew. • Complete knowledge of Solid Modeling and FEA • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that Techcrane products are installed and functioning according to specifications. • Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems. • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. • Exercise and maintain confidentiality. • Maintain file structure for all models and drawings. • Responsible charge for all design and validation per API 2C of a given project. • Full responsibility on final design build: fit, form and function of a given project. Qualifications • Must have Bachelor's degree in Engineering. • 6 years of relevant experience or 4 years of crane engineering experience (structural & hydraulic) required. • ANSI, API and AWS knowledge is highly preferred. • Proficient in drawing practices and procedures (drafting and GD&Ts). • Experience using CAD tools, solid modeling software, FEA software and other engineering computer programs. Offshore Mechanic Lead/Operator

OFFSHORE MECHANIC LEAD PRIMARY FUNCTION: • Provide daily oversight for Gulf Crane Services' field and shop service activities; monitors the functionality of equipment and machinery. • Perform crane field service. • Act as a company representative with customers in the field. • Assist in training offshore mechanic helpers. • Report to service coordinator. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversees the installation and Operation of equipment at field locations. • Ensures all customer requirements for equipment are met. • Ensures records and logs of all maintenance activities are kept. • Develop beneficial relationships with clients. • Supervises all mechanic helpers in field, make sure projects are being done correctly and in a timely manner. • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair cranes • Repair winches, valves, engines, and hydraulic components. • Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment. • Complete all paperwork thoroughly and in a timely manner. • Understand and comply with operating and technical procedures and workplace instructions. • Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements. • Perform any other duties as required or assigned by the service coordinator within the physical constraints of the job. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School graduate, hold GED certificate, or industry related experience.
