Sr. Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer

Location: Biloxi, MS Salary: Negotiable Description: Our client is currently seeking Sr. Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineers, Intermediate Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineers, and Jr Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineers. Roles are on site in McHenry and contract to hire. Description Design-focused and good with CAD (Solidworks or NX) Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes. Experience with the installation of tooling and heavy equipment. Familiarity with rigging techniques and safe use of overhead cranes. Knowledge of overhead crane operation, load calculations, and safety standards. Ability to coordinate with crane operators and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. Proficiency in assessing and optimizing workspace to effectively accommodate mechanical carts. Experience in facility layout planning and resolving space constraints. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, safety, and facility management. Strong communication skills to relay installation progress and space management challenges. Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Boston, MA or Pascagoula, MS)

Position Description If you love meaningful and challenging projects and supporting the US Navy – Serco has a great opportunity for you! Serco supports the Navy as prime for their Amphibious Assault & Connectors Program. You will be located in either our Boston, MA or Pascagoula, MS office and support the Planning Yard team supporting the Landing Craft Division in the maintenance of the Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), the planning and maintenance of the new Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) and the configuration and engineering management of the new Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1700. This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance post-employment. Working in either our Boston seaport District office or our Shipyard office in Pascagoula, MS, you will lead the Mechanical Engineering team in the drafting, editing, review, and verification of technical manuals and craft design plans. Additionally, you will work closely with the Planning Yard Lead Engineer and the Planning Yard Manager to ensure timely delivery of contract requirements to the Navy. Overall, you will be part of a 12-person engineering team consisting of mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineers that work closely with the customer in delivering quality products and services to the fleet. In this role you will: • Serve as the Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Planning Yard for the LCAC, SSC, and LCU 1700 programs. • Lead the efforts of Mechanical Engineering personnel, including Weights and Corrosion Control programs. • Develop workload estimates. • Develop and revise installation and alteration drawings for the LCAC Extended Service Life Extension Program (E-SLEP) and other ongoing availabilities, Craft Change Documents (CCDs), and Liaison Action Requests (LARs). • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) reviews on technical manuals, drawings, and other deliverables before sending to the customer. • Edit new and revised technical manuals. • Create, revise, and review Technical Manual Deficiency/Evaluation Reports (TMDERs). • Perform on-site craft inspections at the Assault Craft Units (ACU) or shipbuilders to verify craft configuration and currency with documentation when required. • Assist the customer with coordinating meetings, discussions, and action items for the Corrosion Inspection Working Group (CIWG) as needed. • Maintain a 3-D CAD model database for LCAC-100 (SSC) and work within the ShipConstructor program for LCU 1700. • Maintain workload and respond to tasking within the schedule and technical requirements identified in the Integrated Data Environment (IDE). • Assist, guide, and mentor junior Engineers. • Travel to shipyards in support of Craft Configuration Audits which includes traversing up and down ladder and navigating in small spaces. • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications To be successful in this role you will have: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years of relevant work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data. • This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance post-employment. • Proven, recent experience creating and updating drawings with AutoCad is required. • Knowledge and experience in SolidWorks or ShipConstructor 3D modeling program is highly desired. • Prior experience leading a team in a Planning Yard, shipyard, or in the Navy/marine shipbuilding industry is strongly desired. • Effective organization level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills is required. • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired but not required. The Director of Product Development & Engineering provides strategic and technical leadership for all new product development, engineering design, and testing activities across the Edelbrock Groups portfolio of leading automotive aftermarket brands.
