Mechanical Engineer - Part Time

Audubon is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in our Matairie, LA office. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the overall project development processes, analyzing blueprints and specifications, and designing system models according to clients' requirements and budget limitations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Reviewing mechanical datasheets, piping specifications, and ensure the plant layout meets client's standards and expectations. • Interfacing with subject matter experts at facility as well engineering contractors and fabrication vendors. • Working closely with the project team to ensure mechanical capabilities, PSM compliance, safety, and environmental requirements meet the business goals and project objectives. • Primary resource for project specific piping and other mechanical standards, equipment specification review, and spare part strategy. • Ensuring design meets internal standards. • Working closely with the engineering contractor in piping design and plant layout. • Providing guidance on rotating and fixed equipment specifications, equipment design reviews, specifications, standards, supplier recommendations, and vendor selections throughout procurement. • Participating in PHAs, model reviews, and mechanical reviews throughout the project design. • Ensuring that the mechanical scope aligns with site reliability and maintenance practices. • Leading the mechanical inspection efforts and act as the primary interface with both in-house and contract inspectors. • Additional duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Experience working closely with designers. • 5+ years of experience in industry. • Experience in mechanical engineering focused on projects in chemical, petrochemical, or refinery settings. • Experience with fixed, rotating, and packaged equipment, process piping, plot plan design, mechanical and piping codes and standards.
