The primary purpose of a production associate is being responsible for cleaning designated areas in the production areas of lumber, bark, and sawdust using a variety of hand and mechanical tools/equipment safely and efficiently, assuring smooth and efficient machinery operation as well as providing for a safe workplace. Key Responsibilities: • Clean equipment and machinery. • Load or unload materials and products. • Monitor machines to ensure continued movement of lumber and materials throughout the mill. • Use an assortment of hand tools to complete daily clean-up duties, such as air hoses, shovels, brooms, blower, etc. • Work with minimal supervision, in a safe and productive manner. • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. • Adhere to all safety, health, policies, procedures, and guidelines. This includes wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). • Must work well with others. • **Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned. Essentials of Job: • Ability to work in small, tight, confined, dark areas; climb ladders and steps, work safely on uneven ground. • Safely operate assigned mobile equipment to perform job duties. • Safely operate assigned machine centers. • Lift, push, and pull by hand various weights (light to heavy) of lumber, bark, and sawdust. • Stand or walk for extended periods of time. • Communicate with and follow directions from supervisors and maintenance personnel. Requirements/Qualifications: • Willingand able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. • Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, noisy, industrial environment. • Willing and able to pull and lift to 50 lbs. • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, kneeling, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 12 hours per day. Preferred Requirement/Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED. • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred. • Previous machine operation experience in a production environment preferred.
