Mechanical Designer

Job Summary: The Mechanical Designer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our mechanical designs, as well as all other duties as assigned. Primary Responsibilities: • Create and modify detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and layouts for a wide range of gearing systems. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet project requirements and specifications. • Visit shop floor and customer sites to gather information and measurements for detailing work. • Prepare detailed bill of materials and fabrication drawings. • Provide technical support to assembly and field service personnel. • Ensure all drawings are accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with industry standards and regulation Qualifications and Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent, associate or bachelor's degree in a related field. • Superior mechanical skills. • Experience with industrial gears, gear drives preferred. Experience in related industry helpful. • Minimum of three years of experience in mechanical detailing. • Strong computer skills, including proficiency using Inventor and 3D modeling software. • Able to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. • Able to read drawings and blueprints. • Strong mathematic skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Prior experience CAD design preferred. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

Mechanical Engineer II/III

Mechanical Engineer II/III Description About This Role We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will: • Perform hardware engineering activities within a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers. • Develop imaginative, thorough, practicable technical solutions to a wide range of difficult Mechanical Engineering problems. • Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional design teams, including prototyping, production, and test support. • Perform detailed design of mechanical structures and subsystems using solid modeling, requirements analysis, trade studies, mechanical engineering analysis (including structural, dynamics, and thermal), drafting and tolerance analysis, and human interface design. • Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentations such as drawings, specifications, design presentations to customers, test plans, and test reports. • Support proposal activity, providing input to cost estimates and risk assessments. • Brief peers, management, and customers on design considerations and program status. Qualifications _Qualifications_ • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparation of design documentation. • Effective presentation skills. • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio). • Desire and ability to operate in a team environment is required. • Desire and ability to lead teams or individuals in design, manufacturing, or troubleshooting taskings. • Experience with mechanism development, generating Free Body Diagrams, performing basic static/dynamic/structural hand calculations, prototyping, packaging, performance specifications, material tests, and research investigations. • Familiarity with and ability to use computer-aided design tools is required; SolidWorks and AutoCAD are preferred, Magic Draw and Jira are a plus. • Experience designing tests for military environmental, shock, and vibration qualifications. • Temperament to work in the lab, shop floor, or office. • Familiarity with ASME drawing standards is preferred. • Ability to obtain a security clearance. • Travel 10 - 15% Education & Experience Level 2 A bachelor's degree in mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering with 2 or more years' experience is required, or a master's degree with 1 year of experience. Level 3 A bachelor's degree in mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering with 5 or more years' experience is required, a similar or systems engineering master's or PhD with 3 or more years' experience is preferred.
