Mechanical Engineer (HVAC), PE

ATSS has a client in Mobile, Alabama looking for a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) P.E. Responsibilities: • Develop HVAC and plumbing design concepts for medium and large commercial and industrial projects • Collaborate with clients to understand project technical requirements for HVAC and plumbing systems • Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements • Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches to fulfill requirements • Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using common GD&T practices • Oversee the generation of engineering specifications in MasterSpec format • Mentor junior engineers and designers to develop high-quality and technically sound designs • Support construction via RFI responses and submittal reviews • Generate task plans and support proposal efforts • Good communication skills, both oral and written • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment Basic Qualifications: • Solid background in mechanical engineering design drawing generation • Detailed HVAC load modeling, psychrometric analyses, duct static pressure calculations, detailed plumbing and HVAC system analyses • Ability to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in HVAC and plumbingdesign. • Must be a licensed PE * must be a licensed PE to be considered for this role* Preferred Qualifications: • A working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards and geometric tolerance • Complex Industrial HVAC design experience using natural ventilation, forced ventilation, DX cooling/heat pumps, chillers/boilers • Experience designing chilled and hot water systems • Strong HVAC controls design experience including controls diagrams, matrices, and sequences of operation. • Complex industrial plumbing sanitary / domestic water / natural gas system design experience with strong working knowledge of plumbing and natural gas codes • Experience in selecting grease interceptors and oil/water interceptors. • Working knowledge of Revit highly preferred About the Company: Advanced Technical Staffing Solutions
