Substation Physical Designer Job Summary POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently seeking a Substation Physical Designer and/or Mechanical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Hailey office located in Hailey, Idaho. The Physical Designer or Mechanical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department ot produce a product consistent with POWER's mission statement and our culture. Candidate is expected to support the department in achieving the goals of the department, maintain POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, high quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment for the right candidate (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office). Roles and Responsibilities • Perform the detailed Physical design of low to extra high voltage utility substations including, but not limited to: • One-line diagrams • Station physical layouts • Sections/Elevations/Details • Cable and conduit plans and details • Ground grid design and details • Foundation plans and details • Structural plans and details • Control enclosure design and details • Lightning protection plans • Yard lighting plans • Bill of Materials • Site visits • Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients • Shall learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs • Occasional travel Required Education/Experience • AAS (Associates of Applied Science), Two year AA degree in an applicable technical discipline or related engineering degree from an accredited university • Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical or mechanical engineering to build on • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel • Candidate must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience • BSME (BS Mechanical Engineering), BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) or related engineering degree from an accredited university • Three (3) years relevant engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basis • Minimum of 3.0 GPA • Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation design POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
