Seeking an experienced construction accountant to fill the position of Controller for a $20 million Plumbing contractor in West Haven, Utah. Quick Books and or Construction Accounting software experience preferred. Provide resume and references. Responsibilities Perform/manage the following roles: Accounts Receivable · Progress billings · Schedules of value · Lien releases · Collections/deposits Accounts Payable • Corporate expense accounts • Vendor and subcontract invoice and payment processing • Subcontract and supplier lien releases. • Reconcile vendor statements and credit card accounts • Prepare and reconcile POs • Track credits owed from vendors General Accounting • Daily banking reconciliation • General ledger transactions • Maintain and track cash flow • Credit card account and cardholder maintenance • Property tax preparation and adjustments • Annual Form 1099/1096 preparation and submittal • Coordinate with 3rd party auditors and tax preparers and provide needed reports, documents, and data • Corporate budgeting • Prepare monthly financial statements and WIPs/Job Schedules • Prepare and maintain asset depreciation and amortization schedules Job Costing and Contract Administration • Subcontractor’s qualification applications • Prepare schedule of values, set up jobs & budgets in Foundation • Document and track change orders • Allocate job expenses through POs, AP and payroll. • Receive and review new contracts • Prep for signing and return Contract and all associated info to customer • Maintain written safety, drug and alcohol policies • Request, maintain and file any subcontractor W9 and insurance certificates • Track all tax-exempt projects, obtain exemption certificate and pass to on to Subcontractors and suppliers • Manage lien process • Produce job cost reports as needed on demand • Final PO and subcontract reconciliations • Create and track returns and warranties • Work with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain closeout documents. i.e. • Prepare and submit operations and maintenance manuals, product warranty certs, controls schematics, test & balance reports etc. Human Resources/Payroll • New Hire and employee setup • Manage and prepare weekly payroll • Manage vacation accruals • Employee benefits • Process and pay garnishments.
