Required Licenses / Certifications: Valid drivers license and the ability to be added to the BMH liability insurance. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Minor electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry skills. Basic computer data entry. Must be able to move office furniture and equipment around daily. Must be able to pass a potential fit test prior to employment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure of the hospital in good repair. Painting, carpentry, minor electrical work, mechanical and plumbing repairs and other duties related to the maintenance department. Performs related primary trade Essential Function work as per applicable trade Job Description (Painter, Boiler Room, Carpenter, Plumber, HVAC, Electrical, or General Maintenance). Attends and participates in weekly department project meetings. Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job related hazards. Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives. Exercises and ensures that others follow safe working practices (even if this requires wearing a hard hat, safety glasses, cap, gown, proper footwear, or other safety apparel) and instructs staff in safe work practices. Is conscientious in the performance of duties and courteous in conversation and manner of personal and others' dignity. Makes inspections of and fills deficiency reports (to include work order requests) to correct problems for spaces, electrical mechanical equipment, control and systems to ensure safe and reliable operations at peak energy efficiency. May accompany insurance, federal, state, or local authorities inspecting buildings or mechanical systems. When other disciplines need physical or technical assistance, makes suggestions, inspections and/or corrections to work projects and systems equipment. Is able to fill in for disaster, vacation, or illness coverage. Is eligible for and performs on call status. Will fill out requisitions for purchases for subtitle to the manager of maintenance. Follows all organization and department (or unit) policies and procedures. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards. Maintains work area and equipment in condition required by department standards, daily. Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner as instructed. Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions. Responsibly follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous hospital environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. Completes work assignments on time as observed by manager. Reports to work on time and is at work on a regular basis, as observed by manager. Provides notice of planned and unplanned absence according to hospital/department policy, standards, and protocol. Readily accepts changes in assignment. Is familiar with all of the various electrical plant systems found in the hospital’s facilities. Must have an understanding of the methods and techniques necessary to ensure safe, sanitary, dependable, and economic operation of related HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, medical gas and balance of mechanical plant systems and equipment. Maintenance Mechanic- Installation and Repair Specialist

Maintenance Mechanic Position Available This role is accountable for the timely installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex plant equipment and facilities that are instrumental in the efficient functioning of automated production lines and a manufacturing facility operating on a 24 hour/day, 7 days/week operation. Key responsibilities include performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. This includes, but is not limited to, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, drying equipment, motors, VFDs, and control instruments to sustain and improve operations in a manner that minimizes downtime. Other duties include setting up and operating simple machining operations including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts, as well as performing basic welding tasks.
