Mechanic Helper - Concrete Plant

Job Summary: Hope Concrete is seeking a reliable and motivated Mechanic Helper to assist with maintenance and repair of equipment at our concrete plant. The ideal candidate will support the lead mechanic in servicing a variety of heavy machinery, trucks, and plant systems to ensure smooth and safe operations. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing concrete mixers, batch plants, loaders, conveyors, and other heavy equipment. • Support troubleshooting of mechanical issues under the guidance of the lead mechanic. • Help with oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and part installations. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and maintenance equipment. • Assist in maintaining maintenance logs and records. • Perform basic tasks such as washing parts, retrieving tools, and transporting materials. • Adhere to all safety procedures and wear proper PPE. • Support emergency repairs and after-hours maintenance when needed. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in a similar industrial setting (construction, manufacturing, or concrete plant preferred). • Ability to use hand and power tools. • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions. • Willingness to learn and take direction. • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance. Preferred Skills: • Experience working in a concrete plant or heavy equipment environment. • Basic welding or electrical knowledge is a plus. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
