Mechanic (Sewer Utility) Duties and Responsibilities: • Installs and removes submersible, dry pit submersible, and centrifugal pumps with the use of overhead hoists, cranes, and boom trucks safely and knowledgably utilizing straps, cables, and shackles. • Operates light and medium duty trucks and service trucks for transport of personnel, equipment, parts, fluids, and for purpose of inspection. • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, refurbishes, and replaces wastewater lift stations mechanical machinery such as pumps, grinders, check valves, piping, miscellaneous fasteners, and pipe support through regular weekly inspections. • Maintains wastewater lift stations through daily, weekly, and monthly duties by cleaning rag, grease, sludge, grit, and other debris from wet wells, pumps, rag baskets, grinders, bar screens, valves, and check valves. • Performs duties in a role of Electrician Assistant in order to assist in the performance of preventive and corrective work.
