Duties & Responsibilities : • Performs quality audits and new product development testing of sporting goods items, including detailed testing and measuring requirements. • Reviews and tests returned goods, including feedback to the Product Manager and Product Engineer. • Learns and understands test equipment such as height gage, micrometers, calipers, weighing scales, ultrasonic thickness gage, helmet drop testing, durability test machines, NOCSAE test equipment, compression/tensile testers, spectrophotometers, etc. • Organizes and maintains testing log sheets and QA documents. • Maintains maintenance of the testing equipment. • Assists Engineering team at Asian Technical Center (ATC) in development of new testing methods and assists with any other new projects or additional tasks. • Assists Product Engineers on new product development for bats, helmets, protective equipment, bags, gloves and/or balls. • Creates and maintains specification documents for new products. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or Materials Science (must be currently enrolled in school, Junior standing or higher preferred). • Knowledge of hands-on product and process testing is an advantage. • Ability to complete and handle detailed measuring; ability to maintain the quality of work under stressful situation. • Knowledge of common manufacturing techniques. • Knowledge of statistical analysis and process control analysis. • Requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, SQC Pack, Minitab, CHARTrunner, LABVIEW, or any other data acquisition and analysis software. • Requires strong organizational skills. • Good verbal and written communications skills. • Ability to work in a demanding, dynamic environment where precision, quality and confidentiality is top priority.
