Job Summary: Testing • The individual is a recognized authority in the field with extensive experience in testing environments, deep knowledge of test assembly techniques, and advanced statistical techniques, can design and oversee complex testing programs. • Has advanced skills in data acquisition, statistical analysis, measurement techniques, and signal processing methods. • Can lead large-scale and high-risk test programs, provide guidance on test planning best practices, and contribute to the development of test planning frameworks and methodologies. Communications • The individual possesses exceptional skills in communication theories, presentation design, technical presentation, and writing specialized technical documents. • Can provide expert guidance on complex communication challenges, develop compelling narratives, tailor content for specific audiences, and provide expert consultation on presentation strategies and audience engagement methods. • Excels in writing technical documents with precision and accuracy. Design • The individual should have a basic understanding of electromechanical actuators, igniters, pressure vessel, solid rocket motor systems, hot gas valves, and thrusters. Drafting/Modelling • Possesses expertise in creating intricate 2D or 3D designs, optimizing productivity through CAD commands and tools, producing precise technical drawings, and interpreting complex GD&T symbols. • Can create 3D models and generate complex assemblies and technical drawings with precision. Systems Engineering • Understands the tie-in between testing and verification and validation of requirements. • Can develop program plans, understand acquisition life cycles, and coordinate activities. • Has a foundational understanding of reliability and safety principles, advanced skills in requirements analysis, and comprehensive knowledge in risk management, leading activities, and developing tailored strategies. Project Management • Possesses basic financial knowledge, can lead small teams, understand operations research principles, understands complex procurement tasks, create simple proposals, and manage simple schedules. • Can effectively communicate goals and expectations, develop procurement strategies, manage vendor evaluations, analyze supplier performance, and implement effective contract management practices. Ballistics • Understands propellant chemistry, combustion principles, grain geometry, internal ballistics, and solid propellant manufacturing processes, including types, composition, combustion mechanisms, and grain performance factors. System Performance • Designs simple control systems using standard techniques, understand diagrams and specifications, and implement basic algorithms. • Conducts requirements elicitation, prioritize stakeholder needs, and document requirements using standard templates. • Understands solid rocket motor performance principles, including thrust, specific impulse, and propellant combustion. Analysis • Understands CFD principles, navigates software interfaces, and performs simulations. • Can set up and run structural analysis models, interpret results, and apply engineering judgment. • Can perform dynamic analysis tasks, set up thermal analysis models, and identify manufacturing and assembly issues related to geometric tolerances. Avionics • Understands basic battery design principles, cable/wire harness design, circuit board design, rocket motor ignition systems, and software design principles, contributing to tasks under guidance. • Identifies common components and connections and contributes to the generation of basic software designs while following standard specifications and guidelines. Required Qualifications: • Fifteen (15) or more years of mechanical engineering experience. • Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university. Mechanical Installers

Skillforce is hiring experienced Mechanical Installers and Tradespeople with HVAC, mechanical, pipefitting or plumbing backgrounds to support thermal equipment updates and maintenance and repair at data centers in Reno, NV. Mechanical Reliability Specialist

Mechanical Reliability Specialist Position Summary This position is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the mechanical maintenance and reliability standards for all Ormat generation facilities, with a focus on optimizing the overall cost-effectiveness of Ormat’s maintenance programs. The person in this position will be relied upon as a technical expert for the installation, testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems including generators, turbines, heat exchangers, condensers, motors, pumps, piping, and valves. Key responsibilities for this position include standardizing maintenance procedures and processes used for all Ormat generation facilities, overseeing the implementation of preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance programs and activities, standardization of equipment condition monitoring programs such as oil and vibration analysis, and oversight of critical repairs and activities for all generators and other major equipment. Essential Functions • Maintain the oil analysis program and database information for all major rotating equipment. Routinely review and audit the oil analysis reports for lube oil, seal oil and transformer oil results. • Inform affected Plant Managers and Maintenance Supervisors of the results from the oil analysis that are out of the recommended limits and track all action items to completion. • Develop and maintain vibration monitoring program in a secure central database for all major rotating equipment. • Assist in developing, and auditing installation instructions and quality control programs for all major mechanical installations. • Update master lists as needed for generators and other major mechanical equipment in the fleet including spares. Audit site maintenance tasks to ensure they are completed according to the maintenance program requirements and outage key drivers. • Assist with updating predictive, preventative, and condition-based maintenance programs to maximize the reliability of operational equipment. • Assist in vendor and contractor development and selection for major maintenance activities. • Function as a technical expert for equipment repairs, specifications and purchasing choices. • Lead and assist on projects, commissioning activities, and major equipment repairs. • Assist in the development of quality control specifications, documentation, and auditing requirements for installations, repairs, and overhauls of major equipment. • Provide recommendations for spare parts requirements and stocking levels. • Assist in the development of spare parts storage requirements and audit storage practices. • Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s) and technical reports on equipment failures. • Provide recommendations for reliability improvements and new technologies that will improve the overall cost-effectiveness of the maintenance programs and drive the implementation of these initiatives to proof of concept and/or completion. • Provide recommendations for budgetary requirements for capital expenditures and maintenance activities as part of the annual budgeting process. • Assist in the development and maintain standards and testing protocols for precision tools, test and calibration equipment. • Read, understand, and effectively utilize technical information from P&ID’s, schematics, vendor information, procedures, and codes. • Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s auto insurance carrier. • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner. • Must have the ability to travel to other locations on a regular basis. • Must attend monthly safety and maintenance training. Other Responsibilities • Assist in developing and updating site-specific SMPs. • Attend outage planning meetings as needed. Provide feedback on required tasks for outages. Review all lessons learned and corrective actions from outages and RCA’s. Provide feedback on repair plans for equipment as required. • Help promote a pleasant, team-orientated work environment. • Prepare clear and concise records, reports and other written materials as needed. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education, Experience, and Skills Required • The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school. • 5 years’ experience in applicable maintenance or engineering field(s). • Hands-on experience in operations, maintenance and projects related to power production, turbine-generators, auxiliary equipment, power and control systems. • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment. • Ability to methodically troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Must have excellent communication and decision-making abilities. • Must have excellent organizational and planning skills. • CMMS experience required. SAP experience preferred. • Must be accurate, detail oriented, self-managing, self-motivated. • Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills. • Strong attention to detail and follow through skills. • Ability to multi-task well and change priorities quickly. • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written. • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write effectively in the English language. • Must be proficient using Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and the internet. • Able to work well individually or in a team orientated environment. • Must possess a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner. • Must be able to work weekends and holidays, when necessary. Physical Requirements • The ability to work at a computer and computer monitor for long periods of time. • The ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 50 pounds from the floor to the waist. • Must be able to climb ladders, climb to and work off of elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways. • Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats safety glasses, ear protection, dust masks, and gloves as needed). This includes company provided fire retardant clothing. • Must be able to work in confined spaces and in harsh weather conditions. • Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneeling.
