What you will do • Work with local branch sales team, will have overall responsibility for estimating mechanical retrofit projects. • Responsible for following consistent and repeatable HVAC mechanical project estimating standardized procedures and processes and achieving financial results on assigned projects. • Provides project estimates for day-to-day activities of our local branch, which may include service and or prime retrofit projects. • Works close with Sales and Project Management to uncover and secure new work and change orders from the existing customer base. • Provides mechanical project estimating and estimating reviews. • Acts as a technical resource for Sales. • Responsible for overall project safety program compliance with team members. How you will do it • Plan and estimate assigned projects. • Oversee the mechanical retrofit process to ensure that it is performed in accordance with Johnson Controls standard practices. • Facilitates escalation of product related problems. • Work with Sales team to secure new work and change orders from the existing customer base. • Estimates mechanical work and presents proposals to the customer. • Acts as a technical resource for Sales. • Assists sales in project development efforts and performs pre-bid reviews. • Reviews and interprets contract Terms and Conditions. • Coordinates the drawing layouts / detailing for proper job installation. • Works close with Project Managers financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems and manage risk. • Investigates solutions and establishes project recovery plans, proactively investigates opportunities for improvements in the project scope that will result in value added change orders. • Performs associated cost estimates, works with sales team to prepare proposals and to secure customer acceptance. • Oversees assigned projects for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques. • Uses negotiation skills to consistently resolve disputes. • Ensures project document controls are following contract requirements and Johnson Controls standards. • Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with customers and subcontractors. • Attends job progress meetings as required. • Work with Project Managers to ensure subcontractors understand expectations of the project. • Ensures transition from estimating to appropriate Johnson Controls Sales team is achieved. • Adheres to safety standards. Ensures that Johnson Controls team members, and subcontractors adhere to safety standards. What we look for Required • Six or more years of comprehensive, technical and operational knowledge of the mechanical HVAC business, particularly related to mid –sized or moderately complex projects. • Ability and experience in engineering and scope development of potential projects from 10K to 2M. • Two to four years of engineering or trade school training such as an engineering degree or equivalent is preferred. • Installation and or Service experience related to HVAC Mechanical systems and equipment is desired. • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. • Must have the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. • Proficient in Mechanical estimating software (example Fast Pipe, Fast Duct or equivalent). • Strong Personal Computer capabilities in MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment. Preferred • Eight or more years of comprehensive, technical and operational knowledge of the mechanical HVAC business, particularly related to mid –sized or moderately complex projects. • Ability and experience in engineering and scope development of potential projects from 10K to 4M. • Two to four years of engineering or trade school training such as an engineering degree or equivalent is preferred. • Installation and Service experience related to complex HVAC Mechanical systems and equipment is desired. • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. • Must have the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. • Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems. • Strong Personal Computer capabilities in MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment.

Senior Manufacturing Engineering Technician - 3rd Shift

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Technician on the 3rd shift in our climate-controlled manufacturing area, you’ll work with your own tool box (provided by IDEXX). You will have your own assigned desk, computer and cellphone. Our manufacturing is a dry plant and boiler-free environment. It’s a medical device facility, it's very clean - you won't get dirty! What you’ll do: • You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all manufacturing equipment, managed through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) • You will troubleshoot and repair complex electro-mechanical systems including vision guided robots, motors, pneumatic pick and place, precision liquid dispensing, ultrasonic welding, and cam / indexer driven equipment • When working to solve problems you will use root cause analysis, and recommend corrective action and you will analyze and compile engineering data to draw conclusions • Your day-to-day activities will include working with engineering and production support to ensure the safe, efficient, and productive operation of the manufacturing equipment Why IDEXX?
